I got the Chicken Alfredo which also comes with mushrooms in it. I got it to go because I was doing a delivery from Halifax. I took one bite and couldn't believe how amazing it was. Took a second bite and it was the same. I got out of the truck and had to go in and tell the Chef that it was one of the best I've ever had.

I have to say I am extremely impressed. We had a take out meal from here today and the order was messed up on one of our meals. When we called, the kitchen manager said he would run a replacement meal out to us. We explained that we lived a half hour out of town. Most places would apologize and offer a complimentary meal the next time. This guy drove the meal to our house and we had it within 45 minutes. Well done! Not many places go above and beyond like this today.

The only great thing about this was one waitress - Carly. She was a gem. I hope she finds a place that deserves her. I got a $26+ meal that was described as pan fried, 'fresh' Halibut with a cream lobster sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, and peas. Sounds good, no? What I got was soggy, battered, paste-tasting, previously-frozen halibut that made the whole restaurant stink as soon as they started cooking it (not a sign of good Halibut). Immediately upon tasting the soggy batter I knew it was not a good idea. I tried again. Nope. I scraped it off, tried to eat just the fish. Could taste the freezer burn. I was pretty disappointed. Mashed potatoes were instant. Gravy was instant. Peas were canned. Waitress could tell I was going to try to choke down what I could to try to justify paying that much. She said to please not worry about it, she'd take the plate and comp the meal. I was incredibly grateful, relieved I wouldn't be carrying that around in my stomach. Then the owner came out and said, 'So is this a preference thing? Because the food is GOOD. That is our 'best seller'! The fish is 'fresh from the harbor''. I said I didn't know what to tell her; That it wasn't really so much a preference as it was inedible; That nothing on that plate had been 'fresh'. Instant is not fresh. Frozen is not fresh. That I was sorry to have to tell her, it was not good. It was quite bad. I was embarrassed for her, but she was putting me on the spot to say the truth while others watched. She refused to refund, insisted the food was good, (I guess she thought it was something wrong with me, impossible her instant/frozen/canned food could be bad), and it would have to be a switch to something else on the menu. Uh, OK, sure, no problem. We decided that desert would be the safest bet and let the waitress know. A different waitress came out and said no desert substitutes. I laughed a bit and then said, 'You know what? Let's just never mind, just bring us the check, please, we'd like off the ride'. I reminded her that we hadn't asked for a refund or a substitute, both were offered, not requested, and then both refused. In the end they comped the bad food, but not before harassing me about it and making an embarrassing scene. Bad food, bad form. My daughter got a simple egg, sausage, home fries, and toast. She said the toast wasn't bad. Moral of the Story: Winners is NOT a winner, unfortunately. Good food cannot come from poor quality ingredients. The owner insisting the food is good/fresh does not make the food good or fresh. Hopefully they see this and shift some things. Make some real mashed potatoes, it's probably cheaper! Real gravy, so easy. Fresh fish is not Fresh-Frozen. Freezer burn has a distinct taste. Peas are better frozen than from a can, if must, that's do-able. Good luck! Tell Carly she's great!
