Big Lake Eatery & Cafe

I love the food here, but the new menu screens have almost completely ruined if for me. I shouldn't have to wait 5 minutes for it to cycle through pictures of the food for it to finally show me the menu for 30 seconds. Please either go back to the old chalkboard or keep the entire menu displayed on screen at all times. I've seen so many restaurants destroyed by these screens, it would be a tragedy for it to happen here.

I stop here on my annual visit to Hay River.
The food is always fantastic. The service is just as good as the food. And it is a clean, fun place to eat. You will also find an assortment of board games available to play.
I highly recommend Big Lake!!!

Nice place for nice food. I happen to stop by Hay River on route to Yellowknife, and found this really joint. Food is great, we had fish n chips, Jerk chicken etc. Service was great too.

Amazing atmosphere, very friendly and excellent service. Great selection of foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner; I highly recommended the Jerk Chicken Sandwich, absolutely divine!

Beautifully decorated and lots of games and books to interact with and play. Price is very fair for the services offered.

Definitely stop in if you’re in the area or make this place your new local!
