What a cute little establishment. Our waitress was running the show all by herself and was still able to get to us quickly. We were able to sit on the patio because we have our dog with us. We had the fish & chips and the poutine. The portions are great too. It was delicious!

We had a great time and great food at Alestine's tonight. Whitefish and chips, pulled pork poutine, and fried bread dessert -- all excellent and good sized portions. The staff (owner?) was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. She (and everyone else there) also sang happy birthday to my wife!

Really loved the relaxed atmosphere and a hot bowl of chili and fried bread on a cool late august evening on the patio.

We had the white fish and chips and the chilli with deep fried bread and for dessert more of the deep fried bread with chocolate and caramel sauce (think a Beavertail but thicker and tastier).
Alestine’s is open around 5pm and seems to stay open so long as she still has food in the kitchen. As she cooks, takes your orders and probably does the dishes - she only makes supper for the first dozen or two customers. And I means she makes you supper, she asks “what can I make you for supper”. It’s an invitation to enjoy the things that she enjoys.

This place is a true northern gem! We came to town after a days worth of driving off the dusty dempster and sat at a table with other folks who soon became friends. White fish and chips were great. The fist tacos were next level particularly this far north. Try the dessert as well!

All around great experience! Everything was delicious. Some of the best poutine I’ve ever had —the fries had a unique twist. And the Eskimo donut was to die for. It’s a “must visit” when in Inuvik.
