definitely lives up to its name. best fish and chips i have ever tasted and will ever taste. cinnamon bun was mediocre, but large. fish and chips was sooo good. the atmosphere is very very busy. the walls are taped with souvenirs and keepsakes from other people, which is pretty cool. some people signed their names and others taped their home currency. service was a bit slow, but the food was amazing. returning as soon as im back in yellowknife.
Not all items on the menu was available. Only 50 percent available. Place is short staffed. Maybe too early in the season.
At a weekend day 3 or 4pm waited several minutes and walked in, fish and chips were great with unique sauce and lovely atmosphere but too crowded and hard busy to order something else. Historic bistro in Yellowknife and recommended to visit and look around the old town.
Amazing experience. Seafood was something else
10/10 coming here forever
What a cool local place with some amazing fish suppers! Had the fresh grilled lake trout and it was very much worth it!
Still reliable good fish dinner. Service was good.
OMG this place is spectacular. I had the fish chowder soup. Mmmm delicious. Great place for lunch. I really wish we would have went for supper there. The fish they served at lunch looked amazing. Any if you are around you have to try this place.
Hands down the best fish and chips I have ever had. The staff were great and I loved the atmosphere.
Not overrated. Since it's not a large space and it's pretty popular, it was very crowded (I imagine it is most of the time). Don't expect anything fancy, but I assure you the fresh fish will most likely be delicious. The trout was good, but the fresh cod was amazing, and we even bought the salad dressing to bring the flavor home with us. Restaurant is also very close to a scenic spot, where you get a 360 view of Yellowknife. Don't miss it if you're in town!

This pla has history! Come to see and order fish! Great lake view. Recommend it!
This is a local spot that is a must try! My sisters and I visited for dinner and tried the grilled Arctic char, pan fried Arctic char, and deep fried white fish, all with fries and salad. All three dishes were delicious, especially their salad dressing, tartar sauce, and the sauce on their non fried fish. Definitely recommend this gem during your stay
Properly good fish & chips! Definitely a necessary visit if you are in Yellowknife.
Very small place and very popular so very crowded. Fish portions are huge and delicious!
Yes, it's as good as they say. Fish & chips, that's all they serve and they serve it great. Fish done three ways; deep fried (thin light batter not that heavy thick stuff), grilled, or pan fried, all done perfectly. Two people work the front of house, the cook and the host/everything in between/cashier. It can get busy, our first visit we sat down immediately, our visit the next day we waited about 15 minutes, there was a waiting line already, less than 30 minutes after they opened at 12pm. The fish variety availability varies day-to-day. Yes you should try it.
