My husband and I ate here twice during a week-long trip to Yellowknife. The food is amazing! The samosas are hot and crispy, and the curries are rich and flavorful. Every curry comes with a side of perfectly fluffy rice with a hint of spice. We also ordered a naan to share both times, and that was fresh and tasty as well. The owner is really friendly and gave us some good tips on where to see the aurora.
I ordered meat samosa, lamb curry, and chicken curry. I ate one vegetable samosa as a complimentary meal, and to my taste, the vegetables tasted better than the meat. Let's eat the vegetables. The lamb was delicious without any smell and the chicken curry was also quite tasty. I don't know if it was written on the menu, but cilantro is included. The scent wasn't strong, but I'm very sensitive, so I picked it out and ate it. It's the first restaurant in Yellowknife, so I can't compare it to other places, but it's good and the portions are large, so even men can eat to their fill. You can package leftover food, but we didn't because we didn't have a separate place to store it. The staff is friendly

If you are in Yellowknife NWT, you MUST eat at @safarifoods.yk !!! You're going to hear about other restaurants in town. Forget them. This is the goods!!! So flavorful and fresh! The owner is Ugandan/Indian and the food represents both cultures proudly and authentically. Go!!! (The pictures I took could be better, but I kept eating the food as it came out!)

My friend and I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant downtown Yellowknife.
The food is OFF the charts. The spices and flavours are incredible! A beautiful mix of African and Indian spices makes for profoundly delicious, unique dishes. Kush cooked an incredible goat curry and paneer dish. Simran served us with such care! And Sureya is one of the most friendly, charming and talented business-owners I have ever come across. We travel through YK often and we can't wait to come back. Great prices for rich and delicious home-cooked African and Indian dishes. Honestly, I will be dreaming about this food it was that good. Cannot recommend this place more!

10/10 recommend! We stumbled across this gem while on a work trip to YK. The food was INCREDIBLE. It felt like we were at a friends home for lunch. It was truly a home cook meal feel, and the owner was so welcoming and friendly. We love it so much we wanted it again for lunch the next day. She gave us her personal cell number and took our orders via text so we could pick up lunch to go. Don’t judge a book by its cover, head to this place for a meal and you will not be disappointed!

Food was unreal!! Had soup, butter chicken and kabob! The soup tasted like a delicious home made meal! The owner is so friendly, went out of her way to make us butter chicken! EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD. Who would of thought this gem was in Yellowknife. My go to for when I go back. :)

Just tried for the first time. The butter chicken was great, very flavourful. I will have to return to try the samosas as they were out. Apparently she makes them by hand every day! The service was also amazing. Incredibly friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
