Ordered the chicken adobo and was quite disappointed. The marinade and flavours were very delicious, but for $17, the quality and portion of chicken was not up to par. The chicken pieces were mostly bone - I'd say 70% of the meat was bone/not edible, and the dish did not come with any kind of side or rice - had to order some rice on the side for an extra charge. I would expect for the price to get better quality and portion of food.
Service was fairly fast and friendly, and the spring rolls ordered as an appetizer were good. Just disappointed in the quality/portion of chicken compared to the price. I will definitely return to the restaurant again but would not order this type of dish anymore unless quality is improved.

Honestly, the food is amazing. Delicious and really way above and beyond filipino food.

I tried Filipino cuisine for the first time, and the tofu with roasted meat had a unique flavor with a slight tanginess, very appetizing. Consider pairing it with a bowl of white rice to enhance the overall dining experience.

One of the best Filipino comfort food I’ve had in a while! They do the basics well. We had the sizzling pork sisig, tokwat baboy, pinakbet, sinigang baboy, garlic rice, turon and banana cue. The Tokwat baboy and sizzling pork sisig were my favourites. I’d get the banana cue over the turon. Some constructive feedback/observations: They charge for rice and the garlic is a little light in the garlic rice. The sinigang is a bit more on the soupy side than stew. And I’d like a bit more crunch in the sisig..maybe add some chicharron over top?
Some of the earlier reviews mentioned subpar service but we had the opposite experience. The ladies who served us were friendly and helpful.

Some of the best Filipino food I've had in Canada and I've eaten in many in the big cities. I was amazed to find such a gem in Yellowknife! My family all agreed we needed to come back at least once more before the end of our weekend trip. Recommend the pinakbet, tokwa baboy, sizzling sisig (it could've been meatier and crunchier but taste was still so good!). If you like turon and banana cue, it's done quite well here.
The ladies who served is were quite attentive and sweet too!

Great Filipino food! Lots of options for Filipino dishes which are very tasty and filling. Try the Lechon Kawali if you come visit, you won't regret it.

I like Filipino food, but the service was just terrible. No napkin provided for dine in, nothing, zero service. Workers just chit chatting and looked unwilling to serve customers.

Extremely disappointed with the service. First time dining, and it was a major letdown. The staff was untrained and unprofessional, no greeting upon arrival, instead we were immediately told they were closing at 8pm, even though we arrived more than an hour before that.
We have dietary restrictions, so when we specifically asked if both the fresh and fried spring rolls were vegetarian, the server confirmed they were. After taking a bite of the fried one, we realized something was wrong. When we clarified, she insisted she only said the fresh one was vegetarian and even tried to gaslight us, claiming she never said both were. The lack of accountability and the attitude we received was terrible. Instead of offering an apology, we were met with defensiveness. They really need to be more careful with these things, especially when it comes to dietary restrictions.
Just checked the other reviews, and looks like we weren’t the only ones calling out the terrible customer service.

My first Filipino food in YK and I visited on their opening day. This is my 3 or 4 time visit..it was so nice. My favorite dish is Crisy Pata. it is good for 2 and you can order fried rice or garlic rice with it. Sizzling dishes are very tasty!! Highly recommended!

I was in town for business and had been here last year but I was not aware Yellowknife had not one but two Filipino restaurants and I was craving sabaw (soup in Filipino)! And of course I wanted sinigang and went with the bangus (milkfish). Cravings satisfied and heck I even had the leche flan for dessert. Sizzling Filipino Restaurant is a must for me whenever I am in Yellowknife! Thank you Evelyn, Julie & staff! 😋

It is a pleasure to experience Filipino food in Yellowknife. The location is convenient. It is clear that the restaurant is sill in its infancy and working to address the front of house operations. Once they have fine tuned their customer service and patron service, the operations will improve.
