If you’re passing through to visit Death Valley, you absolutely can’t miss a stop at Sunny’s Kitchen, whether for dinner or to grab some groceries. And keep in mind: there are NO supermarkets inside the park, so this place is a true lifesaver.

It was 7:30 PM and we didn’t have a reservation, but Sunny kindly welcomed us anyway and prepared some delicious Chinese food for us: freshly made noodles and fried rice, simple yet incredibly tasty.

The evening became even cooler because we met two American guys who were staying at a nearby AirBnB. Sharing food, conversations, and laughs created such a warm and friendly atmosphere.

To make the night even more special, at the end of dinner Sunny surprised us with a small gift, a gesture that truly touched our hearts and made the experience unforgettable.

A wonderful evening, great food, and exceptional hospitality. Sunny’s Kitchen is not just a diner, but a place where you truly feel welcome. Highly recommended! 🌟🍜

We were able to eat for free for staying at Sunny’s Air BnB. Sunny was truly one of the most amazing human beings we have ever met. She went above and beyond for us and we couldn’t have asked for a better host! The food was really good as well. Highly recommended to stop by and meet Sunny. She is truly a treasure in this area.

Closed and not any information about it on Google Maps. 🥲 We drove one hour for nothing.

We got free breakfast here because we were staying in Sunny's Airbnb. It was really delicious and we got a lot of food. Sunny is very nice and kind and the place itself looks beautiful. The people living in the village were also very kind and happy to interact with us.

Don’t let appearances deter you. At first glance it’s just 2 tables in a corner of a convenience store. But my breakfast was delicious and being served by Sunny felt like a mom who waits on you and ensures everything is ok.

I went there to eat dinner. They were surprised someone came in. The kitchen was closed and the grocery store was open (same place). Eventually I grabbed instant noodles that cost more than I expected.

This is actually my favorite place on earth. Sunny is an angel and goes out of her way to make sure customers are happy.

Vegetarian options: Orders are placed directly at the kitchen and most things are made to order so don't be afraid to ask for substitutions.

Dietary restrictions: Orders are placed at the kitchen so you can speak directly to the cooks about any special dietary restrictions or allergies.

Parking: Ample parking around the building.

Kid-friendliness: They have toys and games for sale too.

Sunny, the chef, was so kind! The omelette and pancake breakfast was amazing and delicious. We stayed nearby in an AirBnB to explore Death Valley National Park and the breakfast Sunny made was the perfect way to start the day.

Sunny's Kitchen is literally a kitchen that Sunny runs as part of her Martell Market store. One of the sweetest souls you'd meet, Sunny accommodated our request for a vegetarian fried rice, whipped up large portions and provided warm hospitality that reminded me of dining at one of my favourite aunt's. If you're around here, visiting Death Valley, and want a nice meal, give this place a go - between the food and Sunny's amicable persona, you'd leave with a big smile on your place.

If you are ever in the death valley area, go to Sunny's Kitchen in Martell market. Best to call in advance to see whether Sunny is there. Her home made dishes hit a spot after a long day in Death Valley NP. We felt so lucky and grateful to eat at her restaurant. Martell market has a little bit of everything - it's a great treasure hunt! Sunny is warm and full of great suggestions on where to go visit, where to get gas, how to avoid being stuck at sand dunes, etc. What a wonderful find.
