Honestly, some of the BEST Italian with a twist food I've had anywhere, bar none can be found here at J's Bistro! And I mean really, who would have thought that you could get food this amazingly delicious in a small town like Dayton? As far as with a 'twist' goes, I say this because they have things like chorizo in some of their dishes and out of this world, simply to die for, homemade potato chips with the most amazing dipping sauce to go with them! This is something I would HIGHLY recommend for an appetizer. As far as meals go, everything my wife and I have tried so far has been outstanding including their lasagna, chicken picata and pasta basilico. I've included pics of the later and you'll have to forgive me for taking the shots after we started eating them as they looked and smelled so good, we just couldn't resist taking a bite or two first. Of course, the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely and the service is very very friendly. We also love that they have a full bar. I should note that they do tend to be busy on most nights and having reservations is helpful to have. I hope you give this place a try and enjoy it as much as we do.

Have eaten at J’S maybe 20 times since it opened. The last time was this past Wednesday. Very disappointed! Ordered the New York steak at 49$. It arrived like warm and incredibly tough. Mashed potatoes were way over salted. Very surprised and disappointed.

Gem discovered in old Town Dayton! Italian? Oh yes, please... Reservations requested, no waiting at the door to come in - makes it a quiet, private, pleasant dining experience from appetizers to desserts. Will go again soon - too many good things on their menu.. Mmmm

J's is the place! It is a historic building that has been renovated and has great ambiance! The food was delicious! I had the drink of the week, Hisbiscus Mule, wonderful! I also had their weekly special pasta, Garlic Cream sauce with several meats, sooo good! The service was excellent too! Altogether a wonderful dining experience and we will be back!
Chris (bartender) is freaking awesome! Our meal was so good! Steak was soooo tender & flavorful & Chris was such a great host. Loved our visit! Thank you!

What has happened to this place?? Took 35min to get a Pepsi and glass of red wine. Tried getting servers attention but to busy walking around hugging customers?? wtf.. steak come out with NO flavor wrong cut of meat not to mention cold.. Come on this place was great

Food was good, but the way the host accommodates guests is Ridiculous (management instructions 🤷🏼 IDK) place was empty and they seated my wife and me next to 8 nice people’s table, all bunched together, and I suggested the host I did not liked to seat there because of noise and privacy with my wife. we had the meal done in 45 minutes and no one showed up so I was so mad I couldn’t have a nice conversation. Manager, Please review this issue !!!!
