The Jailhouse does a creative job of its theme... including dining in a "cell" with authentic bars. The food was great...and the prime rib perfect...with generous portions and startlingly great pricing. The wine list was limited, but touched all of the "value" points and categories. Service was attentive, efficient, and pleasant...no artificial fawning. No smoking in the restaurant, thankfully. Only downer was the smoky entryway and distracting radio music... which actually fell in line with the theme. Ooh, that prime rib!Vegetarian options: I didn't look. This is a carnivore's paradise.Kid-friendliness: Naah... this is an adult environment.Parking: Max half block walkWheelchair accessibility: YesDietary restrictions: Fairly easy to order selectively, but this aspect is not emphasized.

The food was excellent, actually everything was. There were four in our party. I ordered salmon and it was cooked to perfection. Everyone else ordered prime rib and they thought it was fantastic. We also really enjoyed the mushroom appetizer (non breaded), and the overall atmosphere. If we are ever in the area again, we will eat here.

My husband's steak came out medium rare instead of medium. Mine came out well done instead of medium well. The beans were cold. The potato was so hot you couldn't eat it till completely last. The vegetables were lukewarm. If the food would have all been at the right temperature and cooked properly, it would have been a great

Food was good just not out of this world. Our server, Michelle was wonderful and on top of it.It is a great atmosphere and the service is good. The meat selections, in my opinion, are good sized but too thin. It is just to difficult to get it right with a thin steak. It was good, it could have been great. The whole carrot and asparagus spears were a nice addition to the plate.Overall I would recommend. It is a good meal in a unique environment.

Had the "Robbers Ribs".. they were excellent! Tender, not quite 'fall off the bone' tender, but pretty close. The baked beans were good as well, has a little kick to them. The pieces of bacon were a nice touch as well.Salad was a little on the small side, but being a larger guy... everything is on the small side. Our waitress, she was on point.9/10, would definitely go back!

I spent a week and a half in Ely recently, and I can say with confidence that the Cellblock is among the very best steakhouses I have visited. Steaks and lamb were perfectly prepared, side dishes were delicious, and the staff were effective, friendly, and at times delightful. I recommend them highly and I look forward to returning. Well done Ely.

Fun atmosphere with the tables inside individual "jail cells". Excellent, fast, friendly, service. Our steaks were great. I had the 12oz ribeye and wife had the fillet mignon, with loaded baked potato each and a soup for wife and garden salad for me.Very fresh and tasty salad. Soup was the spinach and potato and was very good.My steak was a large, fairly thin ribeye with good char. I asked for rare, and it was slightly overcooked but still tasty, with great marbling. The only small negative to me was the loaded baked potato. While well cooked and with nice extras and well loaded, it was smothered in that processed synthetic type cheese. For a $30 steak, I would have expected natural cheese on my potato. But the overall mean taste was very good. The wine selection was limited but with some very high end price options. We chose the merlot and Riesling house wines by the glass and they were fine.Overall, we were very happy with our meal and service and would come again if passing through Ely again.A few small adjustments and I'd highly recommend this unusual and fun steakhouse!

Super service (Lori) and the most delicious food I had on this 3 week trip!

Pretty good. Definitely came for the cheekiness of eating in a cell. But the prime rib was pretty good. Just a heads up on the twice baked potato. They use cheese sauce on the top. If you like cheese sauce then you'll love it. I don't so it was just ok. Our waitress was good and attentive.

We had perfectly cooked ribeye and prime dinners, complete with soup, salad and baked potato...all for a reasonable price. Wine by the glass was large pours. Will stop again next time we drive through Ely.
