Passing through Ely and based on reviews decided to give this restaurant a try. Very happy that we did! I ordered the pad thai. It was not the best pad thai I have ever had but it was very good! Not too greasy or heavy, good variety of vegetables, and yummy tofu. I'll probably order it again tomorrow. My partner ordered pot stickers and he enjoyed them. They were not greasy, and the dumplings were both thick and light with the perfect crispy outside. The dipping sauce was 10/10. The service was very quick and the owner called to let us know when the order was ready. It is take-out only. We ate lunch at the park a couple blocks East. It's a nice park, clean, trash cans available, bathrooms with flushing toilets and a drinking fountain. The town is doing construction so the atmosphere was very noisy but that is not the restaurants fault. As of today we hear that the construction will go on for at least another 3 months. If you're passing through Ely this is a great stop!

We’ve been searching all over Utah to find good bbq pork fried rice and we had to come to Nevada to find it. Fried rice was 10/10. Sesame and general t’s chicken were also great.

We go in and the nice woman tells us they are busy and there’s a wait to order. So we said we would just come back and walk around. There’s an old Radio Shack, so we go talk to the owner first a bit. The old time pharmacy further down the road is nice as well. Then we sat on a bench across from the casino, and watched people stagger around and curse.
We did eventually get our food, fried vegetable chow mein noodles that was large enough for the two of us to share. It was absolutely delicious.
Unfortunately, the take away ordering at the window wasn’t optimal. It looks likethe dining room is now being used for storage, which is too bad as it looks like it had a classic decor. I guess Covid killed that.
Really delicious food though. It would be advisable to call ahead.

My fiance and I loved everything we ordered. The wonderful lady that greeted us was so delightful and amazing that we always return to enjoy the service and the food . Every time we go to Ely. 5 star experience !

I ordered the Szechuan triple combo and pork fried rice—everything was perfect! So delicious and still hot when I got home 15 minutes later. Tender chicken, shrimp and beef, I don’t know how they did it but it was awesome.

The food is great. I think this is the best restaurant in Ely for food quality. It is disappointing that it is take-out only. Even though the food is good and the portion sizes are huge, it is too expensive.
It would be nice to have half size portions at half the price so dinner wasn't costing $20.
I gave the atmosphere a 1 star rating because the restaurant is very cluttered and unkempt. Even though it is take-out only, the restaurant shouldn't look like an unorganized storage closet.

Restaurant is take out only, which is fine. The food is the best Chinese in town, and I know many folks from bigger cities that say it's better than anything they have. Try the Salt and Pepper Chicken, it's a unique treat.
We come to Ely from Boise, Idaho a couple times a year. Not only does Happy Garden have great food, they have some of the best Chinese food we've ever had. Really! They are fantastic. We do not come to Ely without getting take out from Happy Garden.

No exaggeration here...this is the best Chinese food I've ever had. The portions are huge, the service is always quick and friendly, and everything we've tried has always been delicious. Whenever we drive through Ely, we try to plan for it to be around dinnertime so we can eat here! Our family's favorites are the sesame chicken and house lo mein, but the broccoli beef is great too, as are the pot stickers (they're huge!!!!) and egg rolls. If you happen to find yourself in Ely, make sure you stop by!

BBQ Pork appetizer is amazing! Very good Broccoli Beef & Orange Chicken. Order the dinner and get fried rice, spring roll and cream cheese wonton. Owner was kind; take out only. Enough food for four adults!
