What a beyond pleasant surprise. Located in the corner of grocery store some of the best Chinese food I've had in town. The soups are delicious as well as the noodles. If you want spicy it's legitimately spicy as well. Excellent shop.

It's so hard to find food from Shanxi in the states so I was thrilled to catch wind of Big Dan. Take a sharp left as soon as you walk into the grocery store and you'll see it, not many tables so it's hit or miss on whether you'll be waiting for a bit or not. Some crowd pleasers are the hot oil noodles (any variation), cold noodles, beef noodle soup, and lamb burger but you could throw a dart at this menu and be guaranteed to land on something delicious. Definitely a hidden gem and if you're not Chinese can seem intimidating, but give it a go the food is fire.

Just a few tables inside the grocery store, but the food was perfection! Took me right back to Xi'an!

The special noodles were absolutely amazing. We literally ordered more special noodles after finishing the first order and let the other dishes fall to the wayside. The skill involved in making the noodle that was perfectly pliable, chewy, and soaking the sauce was a pure delight. While this place is just a hole in a wall inside of a supermarket, that kinda hidden gem vibe actually contributes to the charm of it. After eating here, I will always try to make time to visit again when visiting Vegas.

Big Dan Shanxi Taste is a tiny corner inside a grocery store, but it is big on flavor! The pita bead in lamb broth (yang rou pao mo) and special oil noodle (biang biang mian) were perfect! Just like eating in Xi'an! The service is friendly & fast. Best food in town!

Delicious. The cold skin noodles are authentic. The lamb burger was amazing, one of the best I’ve had.

If you like northern chinese / halal Chinese food, this place is for you. I only tried their lamb pita soup this time, which is basically tiny squares of dough, soaked in a lamb , white peppery broth, it was delicious and tasted exactly how it should :) Side dishes included a sweet chili sauce for the lamb, a bunch of cilantro to add to the soup, and some pickled sweet garlic. All really good. Next time I will get the lamb bao. Ambience is super casual. I don't mind this at all but just an fyi!

Every time my friend visits from New York City, this little hole in the wall is on the top of her list. This type of cuisine is not very commonly found in the U.S.; and apparently they are very authentic and good at it. We had their cold noodle, Chinese pork hamburger, hot and spicy braised beef noodle, Xi'an wonton soup, stir fried noodle with beef, and QiShan hot and sour noodle soup with minced pork. My favorite was the hot and spicy braised beef noodle, so flavorful! My friend's favorite was the QiShan hot and sour noodle soup with minced pork. I have never seen this dish in any other restaurant before. She said that it's really authentic and delicious. Now I understand why one of the Yelpers thought that lamb was used instead of beef in the stir fried beef noodle ordered. It was really beef but there's cumin in the seasoning that a lot of people would associate with lamb. Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant is inside a supermarket and is kind of like a cafeteria. However, prices are also pretty low. It's unreasonable and unrealistic to expect too much from a place like this. If you enjoy authentic Xi'an cuisine, this is the place to be.

I have had a ton of noodles in my life and for the first time ever never finished a bowl of noodles and I am not one to waste food. The only thing authentic about this place is the sticky tables and condiments. Bathroom was gross and it is part of a grocery store. Definitely a no.

Excellent portrayal of regional Chinese cuisine that is challenging to discover elsewhere. The food stands out as the best culinary nearby

Recently I discovered that mutton and cold skin are becoming less and less popular.
