Canonita Reviews
What a great place to sit, eat and relax.. I enjoyed my lunch by myself (Julie S 270) was an excellent waitress I felt at home with her and enjoyed the Pazole soup, chips/guacamole and Classic LIME Margaritas where 5Stars the chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce was delicious —-Angelicque-Texas
Canonita— should be Canon-Nono! The food is no bueno! We got the 5 taco sampler and held back our vomit. No joke. It was like a joke platter of canned cat and dog in a flacid dry corn tortilla! The worst, until we got the ashtray of fundito— with raw and dry flour tortillas! Again, held back the barf rising in our throats! This was so bad! Great waitress though and right by the water so that was pleasant. But we really were hungry and left even hungrier!
We had dinner on our last night at Canonita and can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. The food was excellent. We had crispy corn flautas to start with followed by Mexico City Enchiladas and Vaquero Beer-Braised Short Rib.
Shout out to the Chef, Jonathan Segura and our Waiter, Rico.
We will definitely be back on our next visit.

Canonita offers a unique dining experience with its location along the canal at the Venetian. Guests can enjoy authentic Mexican dishes, such as Crispy Flautas, Mushroom Enchiladas, and the Cañonita Burrito, which features generous portions of carne asada, sautéed peppers, onions, and asadero cheese, all enhanced by a smoky chipotle barbecue sauce and creamy cilantro crema. The dishes are made with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors. The restaurant provides good service, a fair price point, and a limited but adequate wine list. The vibrant canal-side setting adds to the experience, especially if guests can get a table on the water to watch the gondolas go by. The service is attentive and welcoming, making guests feel at home. Many visitors appreciate the large portions and the slightly upscale twist on traditional Mexican cuisine, with options like fajitas, salmon, and chips and salsa. Although the restaurant is inside the Venetian and a bit of a walk to find, the inside ambiance is lively and fun, with a noise level that matches the energetic environment. The staff from the host to the serving team is very friendly, contributing to a positive experience. Overall, Canonita is a recommended spot for those seeking quality Mexican food in a lively, picturesque environment.
