As always, CK is excellent. My quibbles are minor. Pork Chop was slightly overcooked. The skin on the chicken thighs could have been rendered better. $19 for a moscow mule is ridiculous. Other than that, all good and I'll keep going back.
Great but.::: We are locals and decided to finally venture over Carson Kitchen. Drinks were yummy! Appetizers not to miss...tempura beans, pork belly and deviled eggs. The chicken sandwich ..which was not my first choice was delish. I really wanted the short rib steak..but was originally told they were out. Then somehow it was back. Sort of threw me, about was 6:00 on a Sunday, and it was so early to run out. The chicken thighs and the pork chop were amazing...again ran out of the potatoes...weird! I would definitely go back...next time want to check out the upstairs patio! A great quality meal downtown near Fremont. Well worth the block walk!
This place is off the chain. So much flavor in the food, perfect for family style dinner. And the staff is awesome - good vibes all around. My favorite restaurant in Vegas!
Food was outstanding, and service was impeccable. Sitting outside around the firepit after dinner was incredible. The bar is delightful, but the restaurant is very noisy.

Tempura green beans were the bomb and the desserts. Fruitcake buckle sounds like a terrible idea, but was our group's winner! Shortrib steak was terribly fatty - couldn't fully chew any one piece! Pork chop overcooked but still very flavorful. Burgers were great.

Why, why, WHY did I wait so long to come back to Carson Kitchen?
This place has officially become one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Las Vegas — downtown or Strip. I first discovered it years ago during a New Year’s trip with visiting friends from Boston, and I still remember being blown away. After taking a year-long break from downtown Vegas, I recently returned… and instantly regretted staying away for so long.
Carson Kitchen is tucked away behind one of the most nondescript entrances in downtown Las Vegas. My limo drove past twice before I realized the place was right in front of me. Hidden in plain sight — and I love that about it. Inside, the vibe is warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Downtown staff always feel more grounded than the Strip, but Carson Kitchen takes it to another level. It almost feels small-town — think Biddeford, Maine or Snyder, Texas — smack in the middle of Vegas.
Over the years I’ve come with everything from parties of nine (five kids and teens — the pickiest eaters on earth) to smaller family outings. Every time, the food hits. Here are the essentials:
⭐ Must-Order Dishes
• Bacon Jam
This is next-level. Served sizzling with a strip of baked brie running through the middle. I’ve had bacon jams all over the country — this one is truly artisanal. An automatic order every time.
• Fried Chicken Skins
My whole family demands two orders right away. I grew up partly in Indonesia where this is normal fare, and Carson Kitchen nails it. Crunchy, savory comfort food with smoked honey dipping sauce. If you’re a chicken-skin person, this is heaven.
• Pork Belly
My wife’s forever favorite — perfectly rich and flavorful.
• Deviled Eggs
My oldest son insists on these every visit.
• Chicken Thighs
A recent new favorite. The charred chicken pairs with an Alabama-style mustard BBQ sauce that brings way more depth and complexity than expected. This is joining the permanent rotation.
The Finale: Glazed Donut Bread Pudding
The absolute showstopper. If dessert could be described as soft, bouncy, moist, warm, creamy perfection — this is it. I’ve said it before: we could’ve ordered nothing but nine of these and everyone would’ve been thrilled. Still my top dessert in all of Las Vegas.
Final Verdict
Carson Kitchen delivers consistently fantastic food, warm hospitality, and a downtown vibe that’s casual, elevated, and refreshingly genuine. After coming back recently with my family, I’m kicking myself for staying away for a year.
Highly recommend — and I’ll be returning regularly.

Carson Kitchen is the only restaurant on my “must-visit” list whenever I'm in town. Is the food absolutely incredible? Yes, especially the Mac and cheese and the pot roast dip. But the highlight is the service and vibe. Get seats at the counter. You'll feel like you were invited to a house party with a bunch of cool people who are passionate about food. This is exactly the sort of restaurant that deserves to succeed and delivers an unbeatable casual dining experience more satisfying and better executed than menus 5x the price.

Carson Kitchen came highly recommended and I'm happy that we ventured away from the strip. It's right by Container Park and The Fremont Street experience which was nice to walk around after dinner. Excellent food, atmosphere, and service!

A Fantastic Post-Ceremony Brunch at Carson Kitchen. Exceptional Food, Service & Atmosphere!
We hosted our post-ceremony brunch at Carson Kitchen in Las Vegas, and it was everything we hoped for and more. Planning from out of state and having never been to the restaurant before, I was truly impressed by how seamless and reassuring the entire process felt. From the very beginning, the communication was outstanding. My initial inquiry, menu selection, and contract were all confirmed within a single week.
The brunch menu that they provide for events was absolutely perfect. Carson Kitchen puts such a fun, elevated spin on Southern classics: the chicken and waffles (with mac and cheese waffles!) and the shrimp and grits were huge hits. And the donut sticks? Our guests are still talking about them -- they were the clear fan favorite! The space itself exceeded expectations.
We were set up on the open-air patio with a private bar, which created a warm and celebratory atmosphere. It was a sunny Vegas day, and the venue had umbrellas ready to provide shade and keep everyone comfortable. It felt both stylish and relaxed, an ideal vibe for a post-ceremony gathering.
Every interaction with the staff was positive. In fact, when I stopped by for happy hour a few days before the event to finally see the space in person, the bartender learned I had a private event coming up and offered to give us a tour right then and there. He walked us through the patio and ensured we had a clear sense of how everything would look and feel. That level of thoughtfulness was so appreciated.
I highly recommend Carson Kitchen for private events as well as intimate meals. The food is exceptional and the location is perfect -- just a short 10-minute walk from the sights and sounds of Fremont Street.
Carson Kitchen helped make our wedding weekend truly special, and we’re so grateful for their hospitality!

We sat at the bar before our reservation and watched a bit of the magical assembly process. Our server, Kendall, was so kind and knowledgeable about the menu, as well as educating us as new customers. Everything we ordered was great and I couldn’t recommend this place enough!
