Edit: I finally had a chance to come back and try the negitoro with snow crab! It was good!! But if I’m being completely honest… I don’t think it tops their premium tempura bowl, that dish was the best 😭 Something about the combination of flavors, the sauce, idk it all came together like an art piece. Definitely try the negitoro though, it’s a very cool experience (: Also was able to try their onigiri, omg that was amazing too. Great price and very tasty!!

Super yummy! I went because I wanted to try their negitoro bowl, but it was already sold out so I tried their premium tempura bowl instead. I was a little skeptical, I thought a bowl of tempura with rice would be really dry and just the basic shrimp tempura taste, but it was actually SO good! It is a little pricey, especially because it may seem like a lot of money just for tempura lol, but it was really filling and actually so flavorful - every component in the dish was fantastic. A great experience, and I’m hoping to go back to try the negitoro!

Had to get there 30 minutes before opening to be able to try the negitoro bowl. Tempura is also amazing here so even if you don’t get to try the limited negitoro bowls, still 100% recommending for their other options

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Chamon Las Vegas was absolutely unacceptable. The environment was filthy and unsettling — the kind of place that immediately makes you question the hygiene standards.

Even worse was the behavior of the staff. The server was extremely rude, raised their voice at us for asking simple questions, and wore a hostile expression the entire time. It was shocking and completely unprofessional.

The food was the final straw. One of the rice balls we ordered tasted spoiled — I’m certain it was made with expired ingredients. This is a serious violation of U.S. food safety standards and could have made someone seriously ill.

I’m appalled that a restaurant operating in the U.S. would serve expired food and treat customers so poorly. Absolutely would not recommend.

I thought I had reviewed this place already but I guess not. This isn’t the biggest restaurant, but it gets packed and looks nice inside. In the front they sell these Onigiri, and they are so good! There are many different types so you should be able to find one that you like.

We always get the Chasiu, and the Spicy Mentaiko. I heard they have really good limited amount (first come first serve) bowls that have crab and uni, but I could never be able to get here early with kids. Maybe if I was to take a separate trip.

Remember to go earlier or they may sell out of certain Onigiri just like you see in my photos. Wished a place like this exists in LA (hint hint to the owners). Can’t wait to come back

They give you a basket to fill it with onigiris. The onigiris(rice balls) were ok. Some better than others. The salmon rice ball was very salty. They make really good tempura, the fish was beautifully cooked and seasoned.

This place is really small inside with a few tables to dine and bar seating for tempura bowls while the other side has a line for onigiri that allows a few people in at a time.

Over a dozen onigiri to choose from. We got unagi sansho which is grilled eel, spam egg, and chicken omurice which is chicken fried rice with omelette.

The spam egg was the least favorite because of the sauce. I liked the eel, it had the perfect saltiness w the amount of rice. The chicken omurice was cute but meh.

The shiso leaf is eatable, it’s like Japanese basil. It also helps separates the content from the rice so it doesn’t become soggy.

Some items were running low but they refilled while we were in line. If we come back, I would like to try the tempura and other onigiris.

Very frustrating to go to a place where they're just sold out of everything

SERIOUS FOOD SAFETY CONCERNS! This place has blocked me on social media for merely asking about their food safety protocols. They are serving Onigiri at room temperature and stating that they are safe to eat for 12 HOURS?! Fish, especially raw, is not safe to consume after two hours at room temp, and rice is unsafe after 4 hours. Their actions are in DIRECT DEFIANCE of the USDA TCS Temperature Danger Zone guidelines. People could be seriously hurt, and instead of addressing these concerns, they are merely blocking anyone with questions. The local health authorities have been notified. EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Chamon is hands down the best onigiri game in town—and it’s not even close. These rice balls are next-level: perfectly seasoned, thoughtfully filled, and lovingly pressed into handheld bites of joy. We’ve popped in three separate times just to snag a few to-go, because once you try the salmon or omurice-filled versions, you’re hooked. It’s like comfort food took a trip to Japan and only brought back the best.

But on our most recent visit, we finally grabbed a coveted table (only about a dozen seats, so it’s no small feet) and were able to sit down for the full tempura experience. And let me tell you—it did not disappoint. The tempura was crispy without being greasy, and the seafood was fresh and well-executed. We tried one of the set plates and appreciated the variety—not just shrimp or veggie basics, but snow crab, maitake mushrooms, shiso leaf, and more showcase the refined execution of their menu.

Chamon is charming in every sense—tiny, welcoming, and focused on doing a few things exceptionally well. Whether you’re popping in for some of the city’s best onigiri or sticking around for a full tendon bowl, you’re in for something special. Just don’t expect a sprawling menu or glitzy setting—this place is all about flavor, warmth, and a quiet confidence that comes from knowing they’ve nailed it.

Bolluxed up the time of a board game session so consoled myself with food at Chamon.

Was lucky enough that a seat at the counter was available when I walked in. Got water and the menu quickly.

Premium Tempura Bowl ($19.95): Loaded bowl packed with deliciousness. Two large shrimp tails, one butterflied kisu, renkon, nori, and two slices of kabocha, all encased in a light batter that had a texture between yielding and crispy, on top of tasty rice. Plus miso and pickles.

Matcha Tiramisu ($5.95): Pretty presentation, airy sponge, light and creamy texture, subtle grassy taste.

Value: Outstanding for volume and flavor.

Service: Very friendly.

Atmosphere: No frills coziness. Three-four tables and three counter stools, plus the grab-and-go table to the right of the door. Very popular too; items sold out rapidly, both on the table and the limited negitoro bowl.
