The waitress friendly at first about the customers. But after that, them are ignore. I asked for rice 3 times and never came back to ask me. I looked and waited to be called to check the bill but they ignore.

I have been here many times, but this time I was not impressed.

Thank you.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend and was pleasantly surprised. Great food and service, ordered from the menu for 2 people, tried the spicy pork broth & the sukiyaki. Spicy pork had a nice heat but failed in comparison to the tastiness of the sukiyaki my new favorite. Had the shrimp tempura and baked mussels..everything was delicious and plenty enough for 2 people.

Chanko is my go-to spot when I want a low-key vibe. The ambiance is super chill. Honestly, I come here more for the atmosphere than the food.

I like their carpaccio and takoyaki. Their Katsudon is also good. For $11, you get a good portion size. I tried their Seiro Mushi years ago when they first opened. It was a bit pricey but the presentation and flavor were great. On my most recent visit, I got the Cheese Tonkatsu, which came with rice and miso soup. Unfortunately, the tonkatsu wasnt great—the meat was tough and the breading was a bit hard. However, the miso soup was excellent. I also tried their corn cheese, and while the price was reasonable, the flavor didn’t work for me—it was too garlicky and lemony. I love that they offer bento boxes for $15. I tried the Katsu Bento and it was good. Not the best katsu I’ve had, but for the price and the amount of food, it was worth it.

Service is always great. Overall, I recommend this place.

The menu isn't as customer friendly as I'd hope. Lots of items. Some of the same dishes serves 2, and then have the same thing on another page but serves one. Mostly shareable between 2 people.

Waiter was a little too hyped. It's nice that he would come check up on us, but annoying how it was every 10mins asking how's the food. I had a small kid at the table too and he kept placing the food right smack dab in front of him while there was ample amount of space all over the table.

Food wasn't anything spectacular, service was a bit over the top and annoying. Most likely won't be coming back.

This is a Japanese restaurant that serves many of the traditional fare. We ordered the hot pot option on this trip and it was tasty and the ingredients were fresh. This place also offers noodles, katsu, and a few sushi/sashimi options as well. The decoration of the restaurant was very nice with a neighborhood theme. Overall, we had a good experience.

Out of Chicken Karage, out of Menchi Katsu, out of glass noodles. Everything took forever to come out of the kitchen. They add a 4% extra charge for paying by card. This is not a cash discount. They literally add 4% to your bill if you pay by card.

The servers are friendly and apologetic about things taking long from the kitchen.

An amazing atmosphere and welcoming experience. Our server, Zion, guided us through the menu and gave us recommendations. The shabu-shabu was top-notch, and left us filled. Chanko Shabu is for anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable dining experience!

I Googled shabu shabu restaurants and this one popped up. Looked delicious and had good reviews so we decided to try it. They just started a new hot pot special for two ( see photo) so we ordered the ribeye for $65, they also have Wagyu for $99, if you want. They had three different broths to choose from and it was very interesting. How they served it in a bamboo basket with a hot plate underneath it. The basket was lined with a parchment paper and heated the food up very well. My wife got the garlic pork Broth and I got the Kombu seaweed broth. Mine was very mild, but you could always add the sauces they bring to you to spice it up or add a little more salt to it. The vegetables were very fresh and the portions were large. They also included multiple sides of noodles and rice to add to your broth. It also came with your choice of appetizers. We got the Yuzu salmon which was very good and the shrimp tempura. The service was outstanding And we’re very attentive. I also got the large cold sake, which was in a nice large carafe. A very nice venue with whimsical murals on all the walls around. I think they also bang that big old drum in the center of the restaurant at certain times or days of the week. Unfortunately, we missed that but didn’t distract from the great experience we had here. I’m so full.
