This place is SO cool!!! It was a little hard to find. Google took us right to it, but we got confused with the Korean BBQ that is next door. DO not go across the street where there's a place with Shabu in the name that is not the right place. It's literally a door with the sign on the wall above it.... definition of hole in the wall. When we entered, we found a rectangular shaped bar with seats on the inside and outside of the bar and electric cook tops on the bar. The staff was very friendly, recommended several dishes and we ordered enough food to feed 8 people but we were a party of 4. Luckily, our party consisted of 3 teenagers, so they devoured 95% of it! We got the hot pot with A5 Wagyu beef and shared it. The beef was the overall favorite but not by much as all the food was delicious. We also ordered tonkatsu cheese, 2 orders of cheese corn (second overall favorite), 2 orders gyoza, agedashi tofu, a salmon bowl, a beef udon dish with a sauce that was sweet and yummy, udon soup and I think I'm forgetting something. Everything was fresh, served hot, smelled incredible, and tasted even better. The Waygu was expensive, but we were told the price up front. The staff even took song requests! I will be going back when I bring my hubby back in the near future.

1st time here and loved it! Great food, drink and service! Good pricing too. Can't wait to come back.
The service is good, they're very attentive. The broth is very flavorful but it’s too sweet for my taste. Also recommend their tonkatsu: super crispy and delicious. It was perfectly done, tender and savory.

The WORST experience ever!! After receiving a call saying our table is ready, we went to the restaurant and waited at the door around 10 mins, but no one was there to take us to the table, so we just left. Also, there were obviously a lot of empty seats in the restaurant, I have no idea why they put us on the waitlist at the first place

Thank you Billy for amazing service! Really enjoyed the atmosphere and food here. Thank you again.
I've ordered from you many times before but the last time I ordered, I ordered a Chicken Katsu and then some sides. However, when my order arrived, you were "out " of Chicken Katsu. (?!) so instead of calling me to tell me this, you refunded the Katsu and sent me a bunchof sides. This is really, really shady because there are Dasher fees, tips, and TIME. So you expected and decided I would eat cucumber salad and rice for dinner. And if I wanted a main dish, Id have to order from somewhere else, pay the Dasher fees and taxes?! I am Japanese and told my mom when I moved here, I "found" my place- I refered my out of state friends togo there. I am so disappointed that youcould not take the time to call to tell me you were out of Chicken and panko apparrantly. l would have ordered something else. Now you will lose out on the money we would have spent as a loyal customer.

It's been a while since I've been back here. The service here is still good as before as the workers here are pretty attentive and friendly. We wanted something semi light and healthy. We had the shabu shabu. It was near that it was served in a paper filter type bowl. The broth was perfect once it soaked up the veggies. The Pork Tonkatsu dish was also good.

Service was excellent, warm and friendly. Small and cute but with a cozy vibe. My phone was down but they have quite the menu, so many choices. Shabu shabu, tonkatsu, ramen, izakaya, udon.... We chose shabu shabu, you can pick the broth, meat and sauce. We went with kombu broth, hot tip: take it out after 5 mins otherwise it will taste too seaweed and bitter. Then drop in your veg, and dip your meat for a few seconds. It was delicious! By the end, we were stuffed. We also tried their agadashi tofu and takoyaki. The tofu was my favorite, lightly battered and fried, with a light sauce.

They need to take the name chanko out as they do not serve any chanko nabe pots or even a basic chicken broth besides that everything is delicious was disappointed the taiko drummer was not in that day.The restaurant has a lot of good import spirits wines and beer my only recommendation is that they add a basic chanko pot to the menu and they should start stocking and selling bintsuke wax
