The bánh mì at Dakao Sandwiches are seriously so good.
The bread is the real standout... perfectly crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and sturdy enough to hold all the fillings together without falling apart. Every bite has that ideal balance of texture and flavor that makes a great bánh mì.
The shop itself is located in a somewhat rundown strip mall, and parking can definitely be a challenge since there aren’t many spaces for the number of businesses...

They open at 8am. They make their food daily freshly on site or made to order. You better come early because their stuff is gone quickly. The owners are very nice even you don’t know a word of Vietnamese, just simply point at the items you want from the display, mission complete!

I ordered a grilled pork bánh mì and a special bánh mì, each for $7.10. Honestly, they’re not as good as the bánh mì I usually get back in OC, but they’re decent enough. The Vietnamese coffee was just okay nothing special. I also got some sticky rice and a steamed bun. Overall, it’s more about filling up than having an amazing meal.
