Desert Wind Coffee Roasters

Probably the worst coffee I’ve had. I got an iced oat latte and it tasted very sour, burnt and bitter. I couldn’t finish it - I even threw it in the garbage. Very disappointing, considering this place claims to have the best coffee in the US. I will say the staff was very friendly and welcoming, but this was the only positive aspect of my experience at Desert Wind.

So here’s the thing.. I’m not one to complain about coffee. But this?!?!! This was NOT coffee! It was GARBAGE!

I went with 3 people, we all got different things. I got the Walter white…. Wayyyy too sweet.
The 2nd person got an iced latte, it was bitter, sourish, and burnt. Ew.
The 3rd person got an americano. And it was bad aswell. This is disappointing especially when there’s a sign by the door claiming it’s the best coffee shop in all 50 states. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

I would recommend other places in the area.

On the plus side, the service was amazing and the staff were very friendly. Maybe we just got unlucky with our coffee?

My husband and I love, love coffee. We saw this place and knew we had to try it out. We got a bag of Area 51 and the Tanzania to try. Love, love the Area 51 as a pour over. I am right now on my second cup this morning and already looking forward to getting another bag of it. Thanks for supplying great coffee! We will be back.

Update from 2 years ago:

Nice hole-in-the-wall spot to go to and enjoy alone time. The staff was VERY accomodating and patient with me because I didn't know what to get since I had never been here before. I got the Heisenberg coffee and a cheese danish pastry (not bad at all). Coffee isn't the best, but it's not bad. They've changed the interior design a bit and it isn't as crowded anymore.
There were a lot of people coming and going within the 2 hours I was there.

Smells AMAZING as soon as you walk in. The drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere is clean and inviting

Desert Wind Coffee Shop is not your typical coffee place; it is definitely more old-school.

I think the focus here is on the roasting of their beans, which I have come to buy several times. I do like it; it's a good roast on the beans.

It's a very chill and casual place with comfortable couches and a place to hang out, have conversations, and enjoy some coffee. I always order Breve lattes.

Desert Wind Coffee is a bit off the beaten path in an area about 15 minutes from the Las Vegas strip. My partner and I came here for our morning coffees. I ordered a hot latte, and my partner ordered an iced latte. We thought the coffees were great. They were flavorful and bold. We also enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. They have some decorations that are inspired by the Breaking Bad tv series. I thought that was cool. We didn't try the food at that time. Possibly next time. I definitely recommend their coffee!
