The Cantina by El Dorado

Very smoky from bar and casino on opposite side, no body there to seat us, no table set. Very unwelcoming, we left the place and cancelled the reservation.

The atmosphere was fine, it was a clean establishment and looked aesthetically pleasing. The server/bartender was doing the best he could as he was alone and had all the tables alone. Food was not good at all, super salty, the fries were cold. The guac had too much tomatoes in it. The esquite and drinks were good even though they didn’t have one of the drinks we wanted.

We made reservations for 6 of us. When we arrived, the entire restaurant had been booked for a private event. We were informed the bar side was open but because we had a child we had to sit outside. Service was good and food was ok. Over cooked and over seasoned meat. Quesadillas were the best thing we ordered. The cheese was really tasty. Overall, not the best Mexican food in town.

Pre-ordered lunch at 11:17 AM for a 12:00 PM pickup. Despite the bar and dining area being slow, I waited almost 10 minutes just to be acknowledged. At 12:30 PM, I learned they hadn't even started my food (ordered over an hour before). I finally got my order at 12:45 PM.

Food was good (one star), but the service efficiency is a joke for how kind of pricey this place is. I won't be returning lol.

The $5 breakfast taco!!!!!!!! Get there at 250 so you can enjoy it and then at 3 enjoy cocktails and delicious tacos on the happy hour menu

Poor reservation planning. We reserved our table for fight night. Received confirmation. We get there and no reservation under our name, they offer us what they can which was a wobbly table for 2 with more than half of tv screen blocked from our table. We asked for a better table and very rudely were laughed at by a waitress and said that was all they had, while 3 tables were open not counting patio tables. Then the same waitress asks if we were aware it was a $100 minimum purchase per person. No one shared that info with us at reservation and her rudeness by making us feel we couldn’t afford it was very disrespectful. We left, paid for an uber again and went and gave our money to another business with friendlier people. Absolutely bad customer service!

This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Las Vegas. We went specifically for the advertised $6 1942 shots all night and $4 tacos special. We ordered two shots well before 6:45 PM and tried to order queso and habanero salsa, only to be told this location doesn’t serve them at all and if drove 7 miles further to the Strip location we could get that. What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn’t serve queso?

When the chips hit the table, they were immediately stale and tasted like they had been fried in old sweet oil from churros. It was so bad I wanted to pay the tab and leave right then, but we stayed for tacos, assuming we could get a quick affordable bite and drink to eat.
We ordered 3 tacos (Asada, carnitas, pastor) before 7 PM—clearly during the “happy hour period”/ “All day Taco Tuesday Tequila special”—and they charged us full price “Taco trio” instead of the $4 each special. I ordered one more shot after 7 PM while we finished eating, and when the bill came, the server admitted there was a “mistake” before even setting it down. She spoke to someone behind the bar, and we overheard, “No, happy hour is over, we need to charge them full price,” even though the website clearly states the taco and tequila specials run all night.

She apologized but insisted she had to charge the original bill. Only after I pushed did they discount the first two shots, but the tacos were still charged at full price. Later, I double-checked the website, and sure enough, the $6 1942 shots and $4 tacos are supposed to be all day, all night. When I called back to ask about this, they claimed it was our fault for ordering the wrong tequila, even though I asked for the 1942 Tuesday special multiple times to our server.

To top it off, the food was awful—the carne asada taco was burnt to a crisp and tasted nothing like steak, more like charred chicharrons, chips were awful, and the advertising was false. To us it’s not about the money but more so the experience, quality of food, and honoring what you advertise. This was such a weird, horrible experience. Especially how we’ve been wanting to try this place for sometime now and this was our first experience.

Everything about this place was a complete mess: false advertising, terrible food, and blaming the customer for their mistakes. Will absolutely never return.

The atmosphere and the excellent customer service was awesome. Hats off to the chef the food was very tasty and delicious keep up the awesome customer service and I'll be back

We decided this evening to try a local Mexican restaurant by our home. We found them online with amazing reviews. We now see why the reviews were amazing, service was impeccable. The food was delicious and we will be back…
