Hatsumi is a great new place in downtown LV. amazing unique dishes. Have an open mind and try many small dishes. We tried a few and enjoyed all of them. Make sure to book a table, since the restaurant isnt very big, and word of mouth is making this a hot spot.
We started with a trio of $ items off the happy hour menu - skewers, chicken wings and vegetable okonomiyaki. The 3 skewers, chef's choice, included beef, chicken and shishito peppers. All were very good, but the peppers proved to be too spicy for us. Food was delicious and tasty.
Deciding on whether to give four or five stars for Hatsumi is a challenge for me.
Very small but nice place. Background music is very loud. The food is fresh and nicely presented. Only 2 of us and we shared 5 dishes. We had been highly anticipating the meal and were mostly disappointed. Not the 'flavor explosion' we were hoping for.... even with the accompanying sauces.... and the Japanese chicken was overfried. A couple of the plates took 20 minutes. Will we go back? Probably not.
Amazing date night! Great food and amazing service!
Good skewers that reminds me of the ones I had in Japan.
Bar tender made us some killer drinks. He was really good on educating us about Japanese whiskey. Food was amazing too
We made our first visit there last night for Happy Hour and it was fabulous. The skewers are amazing and the service outstanding! We'll definitely be back!!
I wish I had more than 5 stars to give this place. Hatsumi continues to be one of the best offerings downtown
So yum! Good veggie options. Would love some "house" priced sakes. Really great selection of spirits and happy hour has something for everyone. Plenty for veggie lovers too.

I don’t like Japanese food, but I love the food at Hatsumi LV. A great chef makes all the difference.
I had a great experience in this spot. We loved the amazing environment and the menu. The waiters are very affable. I’m happy we finally managed to visit here.
Good, but far from impressive izakaya. Interesting location is the only reason to stop by, as the food won’t blow your mind.
When it was announced that Dan Krohmer would open dueling Japanese and Mexican Restaurants inside long-defunct Fergusons Motel there was certainly skepticism, but billed as an ode to Japanese omotenashi Hatsumi not only offers something unique for downtown denizens but gives locals as well as tourists another reason to visit Fremont East.
I'd have pictures of the food, but we inhaled it so fast. Everything was so on point. The cocktail to start was great. The sake recommendation was on point. All the small plates were phenomenal.
