Really wanted to like this place, but the ice cream just wasn’t good and the brownies missed the mark too. Prices were high for what you get, and the long line didn’t help. It seems to mainly benefit from being the closest option for South Point visitors.

I am giving 2 stars because the staff was friendly and working hard — they were just understaffed and overwhelmed. I didn’t try the smoothies, so maybe those are better, but I wouldn’t recommend this place for ice cream. It didn’t taste fresh at all.

Honestly, the Steak ’n Shake inside the casino is better if you want something sweet. And if you’re willing to leave the hotel, Nielsen’s Frozen Custard is a much better choice overall.

Kate's Corner ice cream is just bad

I buy three dips of butter pecan ice cream from Kates korner, on Saturdays at Southpoint, I have to bring it home and add pecans, today. I bought three dips of black cherry. There was not one cherry in all three dips put together. Ben and Jerrys had more filling. It was a better buy.

The cone holders say Breyers!… but what you actually get is Thrifty — the Dollar Tree of ice creams. It’s the stuff you find next to a five-gallon jug of purified water at a strip-mall water store for 95 cents. Low milk solids... and all the (not) creamy texture of a snow cone left out overnight. Good fake out on a bottom shelf product!

Kate’s Korner is a gem! 🍦 Friendly staff, generous scoops, and rich, creamy flavors that hit the spot every time. The shop has a fun, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for another scoop. A must-stop for ice cream lovers!

This little ice cream shop is always busy with all ages from open to close. The smells of the homemade waffle cones are irresistible! I enjoy the waffle cone dipped in chocolate and salty crushed nuts and raspberry sherbet. The line moves pretty fast once you make up your mind what sweet treats you want. the servings are big and the price is reasonable. Be kind to the server they worked hard and fast their entire shift.

Dietary restrictions: Non dairy options

Kid-friendliness: Great options for kids and great prices

Wheelchair accessibility: Is accessible but could be better. It's a small place so if it's crowded one may need assistance after receiving their purchase

So it's decent but not great. Got a frozen banana and tried with Oreo the first time. They went a bit crazy on toppings for my liking. Service is eh. They would take 2 orders then step away and make them. Maybe they were short handed but I figured they'd have someone taking the order while others made them. Especially with a 15+ people line. Wife had a double scoop and she liked the expresso and cookie dough a lot. For that I did 4 stars. Service brought it down a bit.

Vegetarian options: They have a frozen banana in chocolate dip.

Kid-friendliness: Kids absolutely love this place. What kids don't love good ice cream.

Wheelchair accessibility: Not much room for wheel chairs. Don't think they could get in to order if they're even remotely busy.

Amazing variety of sweet treats here at reasonable casino prices!I always get fresh fruit smoothies. They make them consistently delicious. There's almost always a queue at Kate's Korner because the ice cream desserts ? are exceptionally good and popular.

A lot of good selections from ice cream flavors, toppings and smoothies choices. There was a long line when I came in, so it was a little bit of wait. Clean and good customer service.

Orders 2 scoops($4.75) and 3 toppings(50¢ each). The girl making my order brings over a hot caramel sundae and tells her to ring it up as a Sunday($6.95). I tell them both that I did not order a sundae. They tell me I ordered everything on the sundae except the nuts so that's what I'm getting. But I didn't order a sundae and you are charging me an extra 95¢ for something I didn't order. I'm told that's what I'm getting since it's close to what I ordered. ????? I don't necessarily care about being overcharged but they couldn't make what I ordered and expected me to take what they made? What business does that?

On two separate occasions following dinners at restaurants housed in the South Point, we decided a small dessert would be appropriate. In each case it was a small cup of ice cream from Kate that we ended up sharing. The flavors were good so we departed the casino with smiles on our faces.
