Great sushi and appetizer options large enough to share. Dinner for 2 with tip cost $185. But then everywhere in Las Vegas is expensive. Would definitely dine there again!

Had made reservations and was looking forward to dining at Kumi given its reviews. We were seated and the first thing the waitress said to us was " we are out of Sake Beer and Wine" Really! This is a pricey restaurant located inside Mandalay Bay in the heart of Vegas. I get maybe being out of some select beer , wine or sake, but to be entirely out of stock on everything? To top it off the waitress did say they had well drinks. So we ordered Margaritas as they had that (at a Japanese ) restaurant. I did ask how could the restaurant be entirely out of beer , sake and wine? She replied the orders were messed up. Now, I would think that the manager would have sent someone to the nearest story to at least buy some basic sake and beer to fill the gap? So, then I asked the waitress if we would get a discount as they are out of pretty much any drink that makes dining a t high priced Sushi restaurant enjoyable. Her curt reply was NO. Since we planned on attending a concert and on a time schedule we ended up dinning there. But had not for that I would have left and gone elsewhere. Maybe someone can explain how a high priced sushi restaurant in the heart of Las Vegas in a trendy Casino can be out of Beer, Sake and Wine buy have Tequila ?? ; -)

We recently visited Kumi and found the food to be good, but nothing particularly special. The sake selection was disappointing, as they only offered expensive bottles with no options for house sake or by the glass. The restaurant was also quite dark, which detracted from the overall atmosphere. On a positive note, the service was excellent—attentive and friendly. Overall, Kumi has potential but needs improvements in its drink options and ambiance.

The sushi pizza was amazing. Perfect combination of fresh sushi and crispy texture. The eggplant side dish was very unique as well we would recommend both and we will definitely return soon!

We used to love this place, but this time the food was extremely subpar for the price. Everything was edible, but the quality was nowhere near what it has been in the past. The fish just did not taste fresh. You can go to Nobu or any of the other high end sushi spots on the strip for a similar price, so it just isn't worth it for this quality of food.

The food was good but the restaurant automatically applies a “food court” fee of 10 dollars which we were never informed of. I requested a refund and they refunded me the fee

Half the menu. No white wine (didn't get their shipment???). Way overpriced for the quality. Unfortunately used to be a good restaurant and why we went back - but it's really fallen. I hope it survives and gets back to its old form. I don't recommend it at this time.

Probably one of the best meals I had in a while. Everything was extremely fresh, full of flavor and great quality. Hot Mess Roll, Wagyu Gyoza and Steak Tartare were phenomenal

Kumi Japanese Restaurant is one of the top Japanese restaurants i've ever eaten at. The ambiance was impressive, the food was immaculate. The staff was very busy but still managed to serve us well. Its expensive, but we'll worth it! We will return on our next trip!

We came here to celebrate our third anniversary and decided to give it a chance despite the mixed reviews. The food was very tasty, the Kumi rock roll was my favorite. The main issue was with the service and to an extent the atmosphere. Despite adding a note/comment to my reservation the occasion was an anniversary celebration, neither the hostess or our server asked if we were celebrating anything special. I waited till we were almost done with our food until I finally decided to ask the server if they offered any hospitality gestures for special occasions. She passively said “we just write a special message on your dessert”. We ordered our dessert and to our surprise it came with no “special message”. And it was not complimentary as many other restaurants do, we paid for it. My point is this, if you are casually hanging out with friends and want sushi, eat here. If you are celebrating a special occasion of any kind, do yourself a favor and do not dine here. They do not make you feel special in any way and is furthest thing from an “experience” that most of us desire to make good memories.

Excellent sushi in a very nice setting, good service, quiet enough to have good conversation. Somewhat limited menu.

This visit was very disappointing. Since July is supposedly their slow season, they only offer this little stripped-down menu, which was kind of pitiful. We should have left, but we stayed and regretted it. Some food was excellent as we expected it to be, and some was disappointing. It was also disappointing that they dropped the side dishes that used to come with entrees and now everything was a la carte. This visit was an expensive bomb of a dining experience. I expect much more from this restaurant. The used to be one of my favorites, but not anymore.
