Black Bear Diner in Las Vegas is the perfect spot if you’re in the mood for hearty, classic American comfort food in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Known for its bear-themed decor and rustic, lodge-like ambiance, this diner provides a refreshing break from the bustling city.

The menu is vast and offers generous portions of everything from fluffy pancakes and savory breakfast skillets to burgers, meatloaf, and their famous homemade pies. They also offer plenty of breakfast options all day, which is a big plus for breakfast lovers like me.

Best breakfast ever! Pancakes are huge but very light and delicious. Home fries are not greasy, very tasty and delicious. Egg omelette was supreme. First time at a BB diner but if we’re back west, would definitely eat here. Great service too.

The meal experience was nothing short of exceptional, offering both quantity and quality that left us feeling like kings. For just $43, two full-grown men were treated to an impressive spread that balanced both flavor and portion.

Starting with the garlic bread: golden brown and crispy, each slice was generously buttered and topped with fragrant herbs. It was the perfect warm-up to the feast ahead, with just the right balance of crunch and soft center.

Next, the biscuits. These were not your average biscuits; they were towering, fluffy, and impossibly soft, with a slightly crispy exterior. Served with butter and jam, they were a standout, practically melting in your mouth with each bite.

Then came the main dishes. One plate was an absolute mountain of comfort food. A perfectly crispy, country-fried steak smothered in creamy, peppered gravy, accompanied by sweet potato fries and scrambled eggs. The combination of the savory gravy, crunchy steak, and naturally sweet fries was divine. The presentation may have been hearty and rustic, but every element was cooked with care and attention to detail.

On the other plate was a loaded omelette packed with fresh veggies, complemented by home fries and a citrus garnish. This dish balanced out the richness of the other meal, offering lighter, fresher flavors that rounded out the entire dining experience perfectly.

Each angle of the meal captured different facets of this feast — from the indulgent gravy dripping over the fried steak to the soft texture of the biscuits, every bite looked as good as it tasted. It’s rare to find such generous portions without sacrificing taste, but this place nailed both. Truly an outstanding meal, great value, and an overall heavenly experience.

Kid-friendliness: Great for families!

Wheelchair accessibility: Very much so!

I recently visited Black Bear Diner for their all-you-can-eat fish special, and I have to say it was a major letdown. The fish was bland and lacked any real flavor. The coleslaw was completely flavorless—might as well have skipped it. Honestly, the best thing on the plate were the French fries, and that’s not saying much for a meal that’s supposed to highlight fish. I expected much more from this place, especially for a well-known diner like Black Bear. Definitely not worth the visit or the money. Wouldn't recommend.

We were here on a Saturday morning around 10:45 and it was packed of course. Parking lot full, people waiting inside and outside but surprisingly we didn’t wait very long. It was around 15 minutes for a party of 4.

Our service was excellent. He was very attentive, very friendly and made us laugh. I wish I got his name!

Our food was awesome as well. Sometimes popular diners like this can be hit or miss. Huge portions that look pretty but the food is just meh. This place actually had tasty, seasoned food. I ate my leftover, I don’t usually do that.

We really liked the classic diner feel. The “modern” breakfast spots are ok but sometimes modern isn’t always better. It’s homey in here.

My husband and I visited Black Bear on Monday 9-30-2024 approx. 10:15 am. Got a booth no problem. Ordered. I ordered Eggs Benedict, which I have numerous times. The eggs were overcooked, not poached, almost hard boiled. The hash browns were not cooked, even cold. I asked for them to be cooked on both sides. My husband's pancakes were dry and inedible. The server was nice, she was not the cook. I asked to speak to manager, a female assistant manager came over and was not nice at all, I explained what was wrong and all she did was take 6.95 off the bill. We have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years. We were treated horribly and will think twice about eating there again. Too bad because we are locals.
