Best BBQ this side of the Mississippi! I'm from NC and have had a very hard time finding good BBQ. Well this is IT. Unfortunately their building burned and I hope they're up and running soon!
"It's BBQ but the style is it's own - better than some, but not the best Vegas has to offer". I titled my review this way as I have eaten what is considered BBQ in Las Vegas in at least 10-12 different places trying to find the best. I'd put this one in the top 5 which is pretty good but there is better. The style isn't specifically any kind if you have sampled BBQ across the country. It's not the hardcore long smoked meats with a solid smoke ring like you find in Texas or Missouri, but it's not as sauce heavy as you find in the Carolinas. So it's somewhere in between with what has clearly been smoked, and drizzled in sauce but not as much of either to be a specific style. The beans side was good and my family loved the mac and cheese. The place is kind of small and dumpy so getting it to go if you are in the area is the pro tip. I don't think there is any better BBQ in the immediate area so if you are nearby and want BBQ, this is the place to go. If however, you are in other parts of the city, there is better.
We are on vacation from the UK and wanted to try some authentic barbecue food. Jessie’s is a hidden gem; Amazing food, friendly staff - a must visit!
Decent BBQ offering for the area. I've enjoyed better quality in the Southern States. But it was worth trying again to ensure an honest evaluation. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall with very limited parking. The staff is friendly but they have a tendency to close early. So if your doing lunch it's a reasonable option for the area. Dinner, well here has been my experience. I had one meal there and two misses due to abbreviated hours. You should be safe if your order is in before 1800 (6PM)
My husband was looking up things to do and came across this place to eat. It didn’t disappoint. The food came out fast and you get the bang for your buck! The food was great and the bbq sauce was really good too! Was worth the drive to try.
We were having work done on our Hyundai just a few blocks away and decided to give the location in Henderson a try. We were pleasantly surprise. I had a pulled pork sandwich (delicious with the carolina bbq sauce) and some of the best mac and cheese I've ever had. My hubby had brisket, waffle fries and sausage. His brisket was a bit dry, but very tasty. His only complaint was the bbq rub they seem to put on everthing. He didn't care for that flavoring, particularly on the fries. It was on mine as well, but I didn't find it as distracting as he did. We'd both probably ask to have it left off next time. Aside from that, the food was hot, there was lots of it, and the staff was very friendly. We would definitely return to try some different menu items that looked really tasty.
I am eating this over cooked, burnt rib plate now. All the people saying how great it was lead me to order. Never again. Its burnt. Its dry. And literally tough where they over cooked it. Not enough money to pay me to eat this again. Everyone saying Best ribs. I'm from the South. I will politely disagree. Burnt ribs do not equal good ribs.
WOW - Am I the assh@l# today I went to Jessie Rae's BBQ here in Henderson around 6:30pm. A former neighbor or person that use to live in this complex and no longer does that we DID NOT get along with asks me to leave the business.
We heard a lot about Jessie Rae’s decided to try it , at first look it looks like a hole in the wall place went inside theirs only 6 tables With a roll of paper towels on it you eat off foam plates and plastic utensils which was fine your served on a big metal tray and let me tell you the staff are super friendly the vibe is very relaxed and the bbq food is best in Vegas don’t let the looks fool you here absolutely a hidden gem prices are very reasonable. This is one not to pass up. Will be back again. Highly recommend this place
Was skeptical when I stepped in on a Wednesday morning for a brunch. Very small place but we managed to get a table. We ordered a portion for 2 to share and it was definitely good enough for 3 persons. Very tender meat and we simply loved it. They wiped down the tables after customers left so it was great. Around 12pm, lines start to form and we were lucky that we came in early.

My son and I stopped for lunch one day. That food was so delicious. We ordered the maniac fries. OMG!! We will be back.
Location is quite a far distance from the strip. Mediocre BBQ and absolutely horrible service when they overcharged us and would not refund the difference. There has got to be better BBQ options in Vegas. Would not recommend or revisit.
At first I was a bit skeptical…what a great surprise. Food was delicious and hostess was very kind. A great place to eat well off the strip.
If you are in Las Vegas and like bbq this is the place to visit the food and staff are amazing. The price is such good value and highly recommended. We had the maniac fries and ribs. Meat is tender, flavoursome and juicy. The ribs just fall of the bone and the sauces they make are delicious especially the god sauce and white sauce.
Amazing “hole in the wall” local spot. The Fortress was an amazing amount of meat. Great service and hospitality.
