Great food! Very good bbq!
Some of the best BBQ Vegas has to offer! Amazing service and even better food!
This place popped up on my IG feed and was actually ip the street from me in Aliante in the Smith’s parking lot. My daughter’s birthday’s this weekend so l asked them did they want this for their birthday dinner. They ordered the sliced brisket plate and l ordered the daily special which was the double brisket sandwich with mac salad on the side. The brisket was the winning ticket it was so tender and flavorful the bbq sauce was a hit too, definitely keep an eye out for this food truck l can’t wait to try some different things on their menu.

Amazing food and service. a highlight was definitely the brisket cornbread and chili but everything we ordered was delicious
Best seen as a passion project for local real estate agent Shawn Hong Lucky Cat BBQ serves up a selection of Smoked Meats and Asian-inspired sides from a kitchen pulled behind its owner’s pickup truck.Self-described as having “sporadic days and times for food service,” the Smith’s on Sahara at Durango a popular Saturday location, consecutive visits found service friendly and un-hurried while prices hover around the same as what one might pay at a sit-down Barbecue joint.Fairly well traveled while researching his craft, Hong and friends frequently posting their escapades online, Brisket finds fat well rendered beneath a generous Pepper bark whether on its own or served as specials including the likes of convincing Panang Curry atop Rice.Less sold on Pulled Pork with a good bit of Garlic, though Mesquite smoked Belly is loaded with Umami sauced or chopped in Fried Rice, sides range from middling Mac n’ Cheese to fragrant Asian Slaw and top notch Pasta or Potato Salad with complex aromatics.Continuing the innovative ideas with Dessert, though to a purist the Cocoa could be left out of otherwise excellent Caramel Banana Pudding, Ube “Cheesecake” eats more like airy Pudding atop a Chocolate-Coconut Crumble that adds texture and nuance.

Best Beef Ribs Ever and the pulled pork is on point.
Oh my , where do I start ? The owner Shawn was very nice and informative as we talked about bbq in Texas and South Carolina. I grew up in the Carolinas and lived in Texas for a few years and have had my share of bbq in many , many states. I'm pretty much a bbq nut. I grew up on whole hog pulled pork , but have grown to love brisket , hot links , and other things that are popular in other regions. This is a food truck currently in the parking lot of a Maaco Paint and Body Shop , next to the Wells Fargo Bank. This is a Texas Bbq place with an Asian Influence. They have Specials and of course the Main Menu with hearty meats , sides , and desserts to choose from. I got the 2 Meat Special with Upgrades. The Lucky Cat Prime Brisket is $3 more and I got a Dinosaur Beef Short Rib which was another $12. My 2 sides were the Gooey Mac & Cheese and Asian Slaw. The meats were also on a bed of Jasmine Rice with Furikake. He also gave me a small container of the Garlic Chili Pulled Pork to try for this review. I also got for dessert the Caramel Banana Pudding with Choco Graham Cracker Crumble and little Nilla Waffers to add to it.Yes I had a ton of leftovers for the next day and to share with my son and daughter in law. They have 4 main Bbq Sauces and a Special Bbq Sauce that they have on occasion and they were nice enough to let me try all of them. They also gave me suggestions of which ones go better with which meats. Of course everyone has their own taste and you may go another way as I did a little. The Sauces are as follows :MEOW SAUCE: House BBQ Sauce, tangy with a hint of sweet was good , but not my pick for really anything.MEOW'S REVENGE : A spicy version of Meow Sauce, multi pepper base. I liked on the Beef Rib and Brisket.MEOWSPRESSO: Dark Roast Espresso with Rendered Brisket Base. Recommended to go with the brisket and beef ribs. I like it best on the Pulled Pork.SWEET HEAT: Strawberry Thai Chili, suggested on Pork Belly and Pulled Pork. Is My Favorite. I think it knocked it out of the park on the Beef Rib. It was also good on the Brisket. There's also a SECRET MENU sauce that's a Sour and Spicy Chimichurri style sauce. This was recommended for the Beef Rib , but I didn't particular care for this one. You may feel differently of course. The Bed of Rice was fluffy and good. The Slaw is a little sweet. The Mac & Cheese was okay , but I'm not a big Mac & Cheese guy so others may enjoy it more than me. I'm more of a Bbq Bean guy with bits of Brisket in it. They also gave me a small taster of the 4 Meat Chili and it is meaty and has no beans. It's not bad , but I wouldn't get it again. The Banana Pudding is not your traditional yellow banana pudding , it is whipped. It has the flavor , but not the consistency you may be used to. I want to try the Ube Whipped Cheesecake next time. It is from the Philippines and is a vegetable like yam. I also saw previous pictures of Texas Twinkies which I would definitely like to try. They are Stuffed Poblano & Jalapenos w/ Smoked Cream Cheese & Brisket, Wrapped in Bacon.Whew , this was a long one ! Ha ha. I would definitely recommend you trying this food truck and look out for the Specials. I highly recommend the Dinosaur Beef Short Rib ! I know a lot of people have been recommending the Brisket which is really good , but the Beef Rib is the STAR.

That combo plate was excellent.Shawn and his crew did an fantastic job and I see this place being around the community for a while with the quality of food they are putting out. The brisket was juicy and moist, the jalapeño cheddar sausage probably was my favorite of the two. I normally take photos of the food when I do a review but I sat down and just started eating. Of course I didn't finish it and had leftovers for the next day (brisket was still juicy after a quick microwave). If you go and see a long just understand that it is worth the wait.Next time I'll try the sandwich and the banana pudding.

I recently had the pleasure of dining with Lucky Cat BBQ, and it was a delightful experience that combined traditional BBQ flavors with a unique Asian twist. The menu offered a diverse range of options, and I couldn't resist trying a variety of dishes.First and foremost, the moist brisket was a standout. It was perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with smoky flavor. The pulled pork was equally impressive, incredibly tender and paired wonderfully with the various BBQ Sauces. The BBQ Banhmi was a delightful fusion of flavors. The combination of BBQ meat and traditional Banhmi ingredients created a harmonious blend that left my taste buds craving for more. One of the unexpected highlights was the Mesquite Smoked Sloppy Joe. It had a fantastic smokiness that elevated this classic dish to a whole new level. It was messy in the best possible way and incredibly satisfying. The overall atmosphere at Lucky Cat BBQ was welcoming, and the service was friendly. It's a place that successfully marries different culinary traditions to create something truly special. If you're looking for a BBQ experience with a twist, Lucky Cat BBQ is a must-visit. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their inventive menu.
