Makai Island Grill

We have been eating at Makai since they opened their first location on Fort Apache. So glad they added this location in Centennial Hills.I get the choice of three with Teriyaki Steak,Katsu, and the Pork.For sides brown rice, mac salad and kimchi salad.Everything is always amazing.I always get the biggest dish to have leftovers.

I was eating out last night to treat myself at a rough day at work and this food absolutely changed my mood. The service was great, shoutout to the worker Adam for giving me a positive experience, he respected me so much and the service was so fast, the food came in quick.

Nice young man CARTER helped me w usual- small katsu/mac/salad. He remembered me from past, katsu was fresh/savory - great portion, salads showed great presentation! Outstanding service CARTER!!!

What a terrible experience I had tonight!!!! I went into the store around 8:35pm to pick up my online order and the associate named ADAM behind the counter yells across the restaurant “Name?!?!?!” as I’m still walking up to the front. Literally not even in front of him yet and already being treated with disrespect. After I told him the name, he bags up my order and TOSSES it on the counter to the right of me and walks away. Doesn’t hand it to me, doesn’t say anything to me, doesn’t even make eye contact with me and then has the nerve to throw my food! What the heck is your problem! I did absolutely nothing wrong except walk up to the counter and give my name and I get treated with so much disrespect! I don’t know if he was having a bad day but that’s not my problem and definitely NOT how you treat paying customers. I hope you have an attitude check, ADAM, because you’re so rude. Get another job if you hate this one so much. I will never eat here again.

Ordered through Uber eats. It was the worst Katsu sauce I've ever had and if you're used to the chicken being flattened out, it's not here. They took the whole thick piece and breaded it, fried it and cut it into big pieces. Nothing like I've ever had from any Hawaiian joint before. Very disappointing.

Excellent customer service provided by Eric last night. And all the employees. The food was hot, fresh, and prepared quickly, even though I walked in on the eleventh hour. (Sorry about that guys) I got a small plate of chicken wings, rice and macaroni salad, the portion was so big for a small plate. The prices are very reasonable, my dish was $9 with tax. I was very full. The restaurant was very clean. The bathrooms were clean. This is becoming one of my favorite little local spots. See you soon, thanks!

Order online get to the store just to be told they didn’t have teriyaki chicken only katsu ask if I wanted that as if I had a choice I don’t like katsu but had to take it smh what a waste of money never again

Not sure what's going on with the service today or if there's new staff or the restaurant changed up serving sizes, but not happy with the plates I just received. Made a comment about the serving sizes and the girls up front looked lost. My family comes here all the time and I'm very familiar with the serving sizes. This is not worth the nearly $40 I just spent.

One thing about this location, they use fish cake as filler for their spicy ahi poke, it throws the whole taste of the poke off. The location on Losee is the absolute best. But since I don’t work down on the north side I tried this location. It was a big disappointment. But to each its own.

I had steak, it was so dry and flavorless.
And the attendant either couldn't hear me because the glass separator is so high and thick, but kept getting my order wrong.
Finally when I go to the bathroom, it's totally a mess as you can see the photos attached.

Had raw chicken in my chicken teriyaki. It was my first time trying this place and was so disappointed. The chicken katsu was good but i was so disappointed with the raw chicken. Didn’t notice it when i was taking a picture but you can see the raw chicken.
