Disappointing service. Ordered for delivery, 1 of our meals was missed and another meal included the wrong sides. Called the manger and received no service with the manager telling us to contact door dash to return so they could provide the missing food then hung up.

Went here a few days ago and asked what the Mochiko chicken was. The girl serving respond and just threw it in the bowl ignoring me. The food was good but service is lacking

While the food is decent, I cannot in good conscience support a business that mistreats its employees. It’s deeply disappointing to witness how poorly the owners and general manager treat the young teenagers and adults who work there. No amount of flavor (or in their case lack of) on a plate can make up for the toxic work environment behind the scenes. These young workers deserve respect, fair treatment, and a safe space to learn and grow—not to be belittled or exploited. The owners and management should be genuinely ashamed of their behavior. Until there is a clear change in how employees are treated, I will be taking my business elsewhere—and encouraging others to do the same.

We enjoy Hawaiian style food, and decided to give Makai a try for a to go lunch. When we walked in first thing we noticed was the restraunt area is clean and cozy. When we approached the ordering station the staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered a big plate and chose teriyaki steak, khalua pig, sweet corn, mac salad, rice, and a side of the garlic edaname. Everything was great. The garlic edaname was served cold which I had never tried it that way before, but still delicious. I was feeling extra hungry that day and may have ordered too much. Whether you are looking for a quick dine in or a to go order, Makati Island is a great choice if you are craving Hawaiian style food.

First time here and it was DELICIOUS. We came as a family of four. We all had teriyaki chicken bowls which were excellent. My son had the edamame on the side (I've never seen him put a vegetable down first till today), I had macaroni salad (loved), my husband had the kimchi slaw (he guarded it with his life). My daughter was obsessed with the spam musabi. Service was excellent. We also went after a soccer game and it was nice and cool. All the tables were clean so it was easy to get situated at an open table. Will be back very soon!

My partner picked up food as soon as it was ready, mind you we live down the street. I got chicken katsu, with rice and mac salad. Rice was cold and old, chicken katsu was old and it it was the fatty parts so pretty much inedible. They didn’t put out drinks in either.

Nice young man CARTER helped me w usual- small katsu/mac/salad. He remembered me from past, katsu was fresh/savory - great portion, salads showed great presentation! Outstanding service CARTER!!!

I liked the kalua pork.
