Saw this place on tik Tok. It's definitely worth the hype! Get the beef rib meal and you won't be disappointed!

Soooo disappointed! We had only a couple of hours left in Vegas and could only visit one place to get our Hawaiian plate lunch craving satisfied before heading to the airport. After much research and watching a lot of YouTube videos we decided on Matiki. We drove 25 minutes and couldn’t wait to have the kalbi and ribs. We don’t live in Hawaii anymore so having an authentic plate lunch in Vegas was a must!
We arrived 20 minutes after they opened for business at 11:20 on a Monday. To our surprise, they had no kalbi or beef ribs to sell! We were told that they had sold out! We were beyond disappointed. We ended up ordering their spam musubi as well as their Portuguese sausage musubi. It is really hard to mess up a musubi because it has only a few ingredients. Unfortunately, Matiki also failed big time on both of their musubi! The rice was so dry and falling apart. We ended up throwing it all out. At that point, we were just hungry and so turned off by the lack of care and attention in the preparation and quality of their food. Next time we are in Vegas we will not be back at Matiki Island BBQ.

I paid for two BK 36$ a piece this location gave me small portions of every meat and you get 3 meats with the dish. When i say i would never go to this location again because of the portions. The portions were for a single person. They filled my tray with rice, making the meat portion look bigger smh

Ordered two spam musubi. I got the last two so I assumed I got lucky but no. The rice was very hard and I should have known because they were just sitting there in the case, by the time I started eating , it was already too late and I was already at home.

My daughter found them on TikTok. Nice, large clean facility. I weed the steak, omg, not only was it cooked to perfection, the portion is large, definitely 2 can share.

The food was amazing but I know coming in 1 hr before close. It might be missing a few things but I only had 2 options to choose and no sauces. Food was really good. Just don't go 1hr before close cause they are already mopping and cleaning

Stopped by around 6 p.m. on a Monday, prime dinner time, yet the place was almost empty. We were told they didn’t have the ribs they’re known for, which was disappointing since that’s what drew us in.

The dining area looked unkept and felt more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. The bathroom was in terrible shape, honestly one of the worst parts of the visit. With how dirty the restaurant and restroom were, it’s hard not to trust that the kitchen is any cleaner.

On the upside, the cashier was friendly and the service was excellent. The chicken and steak we ordered were delicious, and the rice was fine. The macaroni salad wasn’t good.

Overall, first impressions matter, and this one wasn’t good. Missing signature menu items and poor cleanliness made it a one-time visit for us. The food we did get was tasty, but I wouldn’t return.
