Cynthia made our experience at Mikiya unforgettable! She was attentive, kind, and very knowledgeable about the menu. She took the time to explain each dish and made recommendations that were absolutely spot-on. Her warm personality and genuine care for the customers made us feel so welcome. Japanese hot pot dishes, such as "shabu-shabu" and "sukiyaki," are renowned for their unique flavors and delicate textures. Shabu-shabu features thinly sliced beef or other meats that are quickly swished in a simmering broth, often made from clear stock or kombu (seaweed), which provides a refreshing, umami-rich taste, perfect for winter dining. On the other hand, sukiyaki is cooked with a sweet-savory sauce made from soy sauce, sugar, and mirin where meats and vegetables are simmered together, resulting in a rich, layered flavor.Jeremy help us lot.

Weixiwu and Beef Samurai belong to the same family. Weixiwu’s environment and atmosphere are new-style beef ?5-star wagyu from Japan. It is a good choice for friends who come to Las Vegas. The waiter thanks our server Cynthia for Since it was our first time to taste it and we had some questions, the person who served us enthusiastically answered our questions. The service was very good, so we would like to express our gratitude!

Sadly, all show, no flavor. Great for Instagram posting, but not great for an enjoyable dining experience. The meat is high quality, but almost everything else was sub par.

TLDR: They really cut almost every corner and it obviously shows with taste.

Also, crazy how restaurants can buy so many 5 star reviews from "new users." They fooled me good this time.

First, the good. Meat quality is excellent, sweet shrimp was very tasty, and the bone marrow is huge.

Now, for the bad. Soup bases were bland, including the house soup. The dipping sauces were disappointing. Ponzu that was too sweet, sesame sauce that lacked flavor, etc. All of the plates are large, but they only put a couple slices in. This leads to a very cluttered and inconvenient dinner experience since the tables are so cramped.

Here is a non exhaustive list of the ways this restaurant cheaped out. It was quite disappointing as we got the diamond wagyu set.
1. Broth is refilled with clear liquid they claim is not just hot water. Either way, flavorless.
2. The tea is so watered down it might as well be water.
3. Grouper was "out of season," but they have some very inexpensive Tilapia, lol.
4. No vent fans so you'll have steam in your face a lot.
5. No window shades in case the sun is shining into your face.
