Super good sushi. Kind of a hidden gem. Got in between the weekly lunch and dinner crowd, and had the whole place to ourselves. Food was incredible.

Stopped by here with my partner while we were visiting Vegas as we wanted to try one of the many all-you-can-eat sushi places we saw. All the ones we looked at seemed very similar (90 minute time limit, about $35 per person, certain dishes are one time only per person).

The atmosphere of this place was nice, and the food was tasty. That being said, I would rate it around 3.5 stars only because the slow service had us waiting without food multiple times, which kinda felt bad when we spent almost $100 for two people. You can only order one thing at a time and each order is just a single thing, sometimes with just one or two pieces, and then even after you eat your one item you have to just wait until you get service to order something else. Would be way nicer to have something where you could at least order some choices ahead of time to not be sitting waiting hungry.

For example, we ordered the pork belly tacos & stuffed mushrooms (one choice each). We waited almost 15 minutes and then got two small plates: one with two small mushrooms and the other with two small pork belly tacos. They were pretty tasty, but we finished both plates in about 4-5 minutes tops. Then we had to wait another 10-15 minutes until the waiter came by to take our order for the next choice. We were like almost a third into the "90 minute time limit" and had only had one choice each! Even if you stay all 90 minutes, you'll only get maybe 4-5 choices each max with the service we got. Maybe they make it this slow intentionally so you can't eat all the expensive items, but we were just mostly ordering the simpler things (crunchy roll, Philadelphia roll, etc) so it's not like they were slow because we were getting sashimi or anything. I saw another review say they got 15 items, I have absolutely no idea how that is possible in the 90 minutes they give you, it took almost 30 minutes just to get our first pick (an appetizer).

After over an hour, we had only 3 picks each, and that was with flagging the server down to order quicker. If the service was better, would probably rate this place about 5 stars. The weird part is that they didn't even seem terribly busy, just one other couple was eating along with one group (about 8-9 people I believe). The large group seemed to get way, way more service and were getting trays of sushi every 10-15 minutes, so maybe going with a group is the way to go.

So, I rarely post reviews about the places I go to unless I find a hole in the wall or hidden gem.. I've seen this place and always drive by it and boy am I glad I finally decided to stop by. It wasn't super busy but that only made it better because Chris ( The Sushi Chef ) gave me a whole different sushi experience. From my experience, I've only seen this on T.V. I didn't know what to expect in the beginning but wow, not only did he gave me a different perspective of fish I usually don't order (maily due to quality) but I cannot say the same thing about the quality of his selection. He kept bringing different cuts of fish I wasn't aware had soooo much flavor compared to most, if any, I tried. This doesn't even come close to his vibe and personality... definitely made me feel out of Vegas for a bit with amazing service. If you're lucky enough like I was catching him on a slower day is a must! Definitely will be back!!

Ono Sushi is just not good and you should go to Sakana or Smile Shota instead. The first thing we got was fried rice for $5. It was such a little plate for that much money, about 5x5 inches and it was a flat plate. The miso soup was actually pretty good. The worst thing had to be, of course, the sushi. We got one philadelphia roll and one golden philadelphia roll. The philadelphia roll was ok, needed more flavor, but the golden philadelphia was just sad. Deep fried rolls should be hot, but these were lukewarm for some reason. They were so squishy as well. Our total for fried rice, 2 miso soups, 2 soft drinks, a philadelphia and golden philadelphia was $40. That is so outrageous. It is so expensive here! My golden philadephia roll was literally 13 DOLLARS, meanwhile at Sakana its 4! $5 for a tiny amount of fried rice that can be eaten in 6 bites! Its crazy. At Sakana, you can get 2 misos, 1 philadelphia and golden philadelphia roll, 2 drinks, and fried rice for 25 dollars! Sakana gives you better food for less!

Ono Sushi is a solid AYCE spot; Southeast of the Strip, about a fifteen minute drive. I came here for a quick solo lunch, was the first one to arrive and get seated when it opened. A few other patrons started trickling in. All of them looked like local professionals on their respective lunch breaks. I don't think there were any tourists. Medium size venue with a decent amount of seating with plenty of parking available in the plaza. I didn't realize I've actually been here before...forgot to write a review. The menu has changed a bit. I don't see s few item I got the last time I was here.

Looks like they were minimally staffed. There was a lady running the front, taking orders a cleaning tables...superstar efficiency kind of stuff. I only saw one chef making all the sushi and I heard there were another one or two people in the back. Everything came out in a timely manor, good presentation and food was good. No issues! I was impressed...

Most of the food brought out were spoiled due to heat and improper storage. The sashimi in the chirashi bowl wasn't fresh at all --it was sweating (oil droplets on the surface of the pieces of fish due to being in prolonged heat) because it was improperly cooled/stored. Almost all of the sashimi pieces had a strong fishy aftertaste, again due to lack of freshness. Even the egg pieces tasted sour like it has been sitting out all day. I had to spit out a lot of food after tasting that they were spoiled. The takoyaki was a bit soggy, the dough mix on the inside was a bit too watery, the sauces were low quality sauces (if you eat at high end sushi places often, you can tell the difference)

I can't say for sure if there were cockroaches in the restaurant but here were lots of cockroaches on the sidewalk next to the building --- we noticed sadly after our "meal".

The interior was humid and the tables were sticky. The water tasted like tap water. We took some travelers diarrhea pills after getting home just to be safe.
