While the food was good service as far as getting in was very difficult. If one has a reservation you would expect to be seated remotely close to ones reservation. While having a texting system that “text when your table is ready” is really just a reminder that you have a reservation. We waited for 45 min after our reservation to be seated. I know some would say to just go somewhere else and believe me I wanted to. I couldn’t though as they took my credit card info for reservation...
So, the prawns were amazing. The sommelier introduced us to a Pinot noir we will order shipped to our house. The sea bream was tasty, but it was not prepared as described. Other items we ordered were fine - not amazing and not bad. There was an ingredient on my partner's plate that he could not identify - he thought it was fat, I thought it was eggplant; whatever it was, he put it aside and he will eat just about anything. At two hours in we were rushing to finish our entrees...
Most proteins were overcooked at the table. Apps were very good. My baked salted sea bream was good. There's a lot of places in Las Vegas to eat. I wouldn't say this restaurant offered me anything special to make me want to return. I guess I expected more out of Micheal Mina restaurant.
