This was THE BEST Bahn Mi I have ever had in my entire life! The chargrilled pork is so flavorful and not overly dressed. Perfect bread/meat/sauce/cilantro proportions. Do NOT miss out on this place! When I enter the doors of a cultural restaurant I immediately audit who’s feasting and count how folks like me are there. If I have to wait an hour and no one looks like me that’s the first green flag. If I see a group of kids doing homework in the corner, I think back to watching my grandma wait on tables as kid at the counter. Seeing that gives me potential legendary vibes. I’ve never been to Asia but I’m working on it. So when my friend invited me to Pho Saigonese ( @pho_saigonese ) I knew it was legit.
Normally she picks the full menu, but if I see something I have to try, I add it to the stack. Everything about this spot was fire, perfectly prepared ( according to her, I had no idea, but it tasted legendary ). The service was fast too, even though they didn’t have many tables. When I finally make it to Asia I’m eating all the things, the bugs on sticks, the partially fertilized eggs, all of it. I know I’ll get sick. That’s part of making the memory.
