I've tried other drink focused shops in the area, initially out of curiosity (Swig & Fiiz) and have really grown to like these as a summer treat. When I saw Pop Drinks I was excited because they carry Red Bull, unlike the other shops.
I finally was able to try it out today. First, the atmosphere was not as good, since the sign on the door said drive through only. I like to take my time ordering especially when I've never been to a place, and feel pressure in a drive through (it's a me thing). The drive through was also tight because of a chain link fence around a construction site, which is likely temporary.
One of the reasons I have grown to like these drink shops is because they will blend the drinks - giving me a smooth consistency and making my drink last a bit longer than if it was just over ice. Unfortunately when I ordered the gal let me know their blender was broken. Disappointing, but hopefully temporary. This lead me to order with syrup instead of fruit puree, and not get the drink I was really looking forward to which was redbull+strawberry puree+sprite, blended.
My drink of redbull+stawberry syrup+sprite over ice was fine, but ultimately I could make at home. Over all, I'll try it again, but it missed the mark a bit.

Well now, let me tell you somethinâ, sugarbunchâ Pop Drinks in Abilene, Texas is a bonafide oasis in the high plains desert of West Texas heat and everyday hustle. And I say that not lightly, but with the full sincerity of a perimenopausal heart that has survived a small-town Sonic shortage and lived to tell the tale. Walking into Pop Drinks feels like stepping into a pastel dream where the air itself is carbonated and kindness is served by the ounce. The owner and staff? Sweeter than cane syrup and twice as quick with a smile. Whether youâre dragging in after a long, sunburnt day or skipping in joyfully to meet a friend, theyâll meet you with that same energyâthe good kind, the kind that says, âYou matter here.â Now, Mr. Twain wouldâve called it a âmost curious concoctioneryââa place where sodas are turned into alchemy and every sip tastes like a new chapter in a storybook you didnât know you were writing. From the tart tang of a lime-spiked Mountain Dew to a dreamy swirl of coconut cream Dr. Pepper that could make even the grumpiest outlaw grin, thereâs magic in that menu. And donât even get me started on the cookiesâtheyâre soft, gooey masterpieces of culinary gospel, and Iâm not using that word lightly. Pop Drinks is more than a drink stopâitâs a gathering place, a tiny revolution of joy and flavor in a world that often feels flavorless. Itâs the kind of place that reminds you small things can make a big difference, especially when theyâre filled with bubbles, whipped cream, and a whole lotta heart. So if youâre anywhere near Abilene and you donât stop by Pop Drinks? Well darlinâ, youâve missed the sweetest little thunderstorm of refreshment this side of the Brazos. Donât make that mistake. Come thirsty, leave joyful. âGavyn Hardegree

I just tried Pop Drinks for the first time and it was so delicious I had the Flamingo âĽď¸
âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ This place is a New Abilene Texas Treasure full of sweet sips & special moments. My daughter and I had a much-needed girls day after a difficult week, and we decided to stop by Pop for a little treat, and Iâm so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were stepping into something special. I ordered the Strawberry Kiss, and it was love at first sip, sweet, creamy, and perfectly refreshing. My daughter picked the Flamingo, and it was just as vibrant and fun as she is. We couldnât resist the pink frosted cookies, soft, sweet, and hits the spot kind of good. It all felt like the cherry on top of an already beautiful day. What truly set the experience apart, besides the amazing drinks, was the heart behind it all. Owner Melanie Unger has provided more than just a drink stop, sheâs built a space that me and my daughters can share special moments and that is priceless to me. Every detail, from the custom drinks to the friendly service by a sweet cashier name Aubrey, reflects care, creativity, and a whole POP of love. After picking up our treats, we headed just down the street to enjoy a walk in the park, soaking up the sunshine on a perfect West Texas day. It was the kind of moment that makes you slow down and really savor life. Meaningful enough to snap a few photos of our first mother daughter visit! I absolutely recommend grabbing a Pop drink, whether you need a quick pick-me-up or want to create a special memory with someone you love. Supporting businesses like this one is easy when they pour so much heart into what they do. Weâll definitely be back!
I love this place the service is always stellar and cheery. The cups are a whole other ball game. Last night after getting my medium drink. The cup literally broke in my hands and fell to the floor. It was tragic those foam cups donât stand a chance once you are past a small size. I think Iâm bringing my mountaineer cup to switch out for the summer.

I always try to give business the benefit of a doubt before posting bad reviews. I've no problems with the popcorn which I always go for. The last 2 times I've gone there customer service was so not up to par. On Saturday, November 30, 2024 around 730pm I ordered 2 popcorn and 3 sodas and when I pulled up to the window, there were 3 young teenage workers just standing there talking and laughing among themselves and not even attempting to take my payment right away or prepare my order. I literally had to blow the horn and knock in the window for them to service me. When I told them respectfully that my order show have been put together by the time I got to the window and one worker apologized and one started to laugh. I go today Sunday, Dec 1 at 3:50 and close at 4pm and said they were closed already. I really feel that an adult needs to be on shift with these teens. I come this place weekly and this week customer service was not it and I will not continue supporting this behavior.

Couldnât get in the place because the door is locked, No where on the website says itâs drive-through only. I had to go on YouTube which wasnât that easy to find any video on the place. Luckily I found one with two women talking about it.

Decided to get some 44 ounce sodas to binge watch Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in the most authentic way I knew how. This place did not disappoint- delicious and extremely competitively priced.

I'm non-alcoholic so I considered Pop Drinks to be my soda bar! It's only 15 minutes or so from me. My favorite is the Tootsie Roll! Pop Drinks has an app so be sure to download it I'd you're a frequent customer. Lastly, they no longer use stamp cards so redeem them now.
Parking: There is a drive-through that's never long and there is plenty of parking in the lot.
