A Night to Forget at Rare Society
We walked into Rare Society in Summerlin with high expectations. The buzz around this place had been building, and we were genuinely excited to finally experience what everyone had been raving about. We’d even reserved their private room for our group, anticipating something truly special for the evening.
Looking back now, I can honestly say this was the worst meal we’ve had in as long as I can remember.
The warning signs started early. One of us ordered a dirty martini, a simple enough request. What arrived at the table was anything but: clear, with a twist, not a hint of olive juice in sight. I sent it back. The second attempt showed up slightly more dirty, still with a twist, and still no olives. At that point, we just gave up.
Then came the meatballs. Cold. Not room temperature, actually cold.
The steaks were where things really fell apart. I ordered my ribeye medium. It arrived medium rare. The others at our table ordered medium rare. Theirs came out medium. It’s almost impressive to get it that consistently backward.
But here’s where it crossed from disappointing to genuinely disturbing: there was a fly in the wine. A living fly. Swimming around in someone’s glass.
The sides weren’t faring any better. The mashed potatoes were so loaded with butter they’d gone completely runny… more of a soup than anything resembling actual potatoes. The artichoke looked beautiful on the plate, I’ll give them that. But when you actually tried to eat it, there was essentially no meat to be found. Just presentation, no substance.
The only bright spot of the entire evening? The butter cake we had for dessert. It was genuinely excellent. One item out of an entire meal.
We’d heard going in that the wine list was limited and the service could be spotty, but that the food made up for it. Turns out they struck out on all three counts. After our server took the initial cocktail order, we literally had to go find them to place another round. It was beyond bad—it was absent.
And that private room we’d reserved? Picture a small space painted entirely black. No warmth, no ambiance, no sense of occasion. It felt less like an upscale dining room and more like a dungeon—or maybe a jail cell where you’re waiting to be interrogated. Definitely not the class we expected.
We’ll be sticking with Harlo, which scores on every front: food, service, wine, and location. At least there, we know what we’re getting, and it’s everything Rare Society promised but failed to deliver.
So disappointing. We really had anticipated something special here.

The San Diego location is amazing. This new location is ok, just seems like they are trying to smash as many people in a small space as possible. Literally sitting in between two other parties on the same bench in my opinion is a real low class cheap vibe not what we’ve experienced at the other locations.
Staff not friendly at all.
Will try their other locations, this Las Vegas location will always be a hard pass unless I want to feel like I’m eating in a fancy cafeteria.

I have eaten here several times and it's been a superb experience. I have dined at almost every steak house in Vegas and this place is one of my favorites.
The staff is fun, friendly and professional. This establishment is a well oiled machine fueled by people who love what they do.
As a former carnivore, I know meat, and their cuts are great quality, prepared to perfection.
I like to sit at the bar for great drink service, people watching, and absorb the warm earth toned decor.

The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent — highly recommended! I had the Wagyu steak with roasted broccoli and whipped potatoes. The broccoli was my favorite side, and for dessert, the butter cake truly stole the show. I’ll definitely be returning to Rare Society to explore more of their menu.

What a great spot, really cool atmosphere, the menu is well thought out. Just go with the Executive Board, it 100% worth it, fed 4 hungry dudes. Service was phenomenal Liz was great, she took the experience from good to great!

Very good restaurant. Parking is not free. Ridiculous. One of our side dishes was claimed to be their best. Broccolini. But ours was raw and not edible. No effort to replace or not charge us. They would not allow separate checks for 3 couples. Lots of free parking across the street at Durango. Hard to make a compelling case to come here with the options at Durango.

We came here around 5:30pm on a Friday night to celebrate 3 birthdays. Table of 8. I'll bullet point the good and areas for improvement:
1. Sat outside. Very nice atmosphere as long as you are fine with high cost autos with loud exhaust driving by every 10 minutes. Literally. Absolutely nothing the restaurant can do about this, but wanted to note it for others to make a decision.
2. Server was initially very attentive.
3. Ordered 4 appetizers and they can out one-by-one. A bit odd.
4. Entrees took 40 minutes to come out. After ordering entrees server basically disappeared. Didn't come back to give us an update on entrees. 40 minutes is a LONG time between ordering and getting.
5. Most ordered steak and a couple of them were cold when they came out.
6. Entree food was very good.
7. We got a signed card for the birthdays. Spending $1000 for dinner, most places would provide a free desert. Odd they did not.
Overall, the food was good to very good. $60 steaks should not come out cold and you shouldn't have to wait 40 minutes. Server kinda disappearing was disappointing. The pace of the meal was just off. Based on pricing, expectation were not met.

Excellent experience! Everything that I had was amazing! I would definitely come back! We had the bacon and artichoke for the starters. The executive board was our protein, phenomenal! Even all of the different sauces it came with were delicious! The sides : lobster king crab Mac, potato au gratin, asparagus. Everything was delicious! The desert in my opinion was the best by far. Butter Cake, and cream brûlée, OUT OF THIS WORLD. I’m coming back just for that in the near future! Great established.
