Rubio's Coastal Grill

Came on a Sunday afternoon and the place is not open. One star for google maps too because it said it was busier than usual at the time.

It was not as good as the first time we went there. A little longer wait time. Food was OK.

Food was delicious and timely. Service was good, brought food to the table.

Rubios is the first place I go when visiting from out of town. There is no better fish taco PERIOD !!

Great service and great food. I think the gourmet shrimp taco is the best taco I’ve ever had! I wish there was a Rubio’s on every corner in every state.

Website ordering has a glitch, manager completely unhelpful and just complains about how bad it is and how it messes everyone’s orders up but nothing she can do. Just really the worst response to give a customer. I have family flying in and needed two large family orders, and no way to order so ordering from another Mexican place 🤷🏻‍♀️

Terrible Management & Lack of Concern for Public Health

If I could give zero stars, I would. My son has been a dedicated line cook at this Rubio’s location for the past two years. He has never called out, and is easily one of the hardest workers on the team. Despite his strong work ethic, he was treated with complete disrespect by the manager, Nancy, when he fell ill.

On Friday, February 14th, he woke up with a 103-degree fever and was clearly coming down with the flu that is currently going around. He contacted Nancy with plenty of notice to let her know he was too sick to work. Instead of showing any concern for his health or the safety of the customers eating here, she refused to let him call out and told him he had to come in. Keep in mind—he is a line cook. The fact that she prioritized her own convenience over the well-being of both employees and customers is beyond unacceptable.

When he put in his two weeks’ notice due to her disrespectful and unprofessional behavior, she responded by telling him that his last day was yesterday, effectively firing him on the spot. This kind of treatment is appalling, not only for employees but also for customers who should expect higher health and safety standards from a restaurant.

If this is how Rubio’s treats its staff and handles food safety concerns, I highly recommend avoiding this location. Poor management, zero regard for employee well-being, and a blatant disregard for public health. Do better, Rubio’s.

The shrimp burritos, chicken burrito and shrimp taco were absolutely disgusting. ALL of our food tasted burnt and overcooked. My chicken burrito looked like it was just slapped together with no thought whatsoever. I’m thoroughly disappointed.

They took the impossible options away

Rubio’s has always been a favorite of ours, especially for their fish and shrimp tacos! We love their Tuesday specials for the great deals, and their loyalty program is a nice perk too.

We ordered through the app this time, and while there wasn’t an option to customize the Shrimp Trio tacos the way we wanted, their team was incredibly helpful when I called. They made sure we got what we were looking for, and when there was a small mix-up, they handled it with kindness and went above and beyond to make things right.

It’s rare to come across such great customer service these days, and I really appreciated how proactive and thoughtful they were. We’ll definitely be back!

Prices went up and portions down. Straight from the servers mouth. No more cleanable bowls cause the positions look too small in them so on to throw-away bowll and plastic forks. I’m not coming back. Ever. Oh and to top it off: the rice was COLD and so was the chicken and the steak. Not worth half of what I paid.

The food is great. I have been going to Rubios for a long time ever since moving from California. Each Rubio is about the same. I have found that the service will vary greatly. The food is pretty consistent.
I recommend eating here, it's very good with great deals on their app.
