We usually go to the Chinatown location for the pan-fried pork buns but decided to come to this one since finding parking in Shang Hai Plaza is always a pain. The parking at this location was much more open.

We tried the chili oil wontons and sweet & sour short ribs today too. The chili oil wontons were phenomenal and we loved them. The sheng jian was a little doughy and we think the Chinatown location makes them a little better. The sweet & sour short ribs were good, but I wouldn’t order them again since the portion is a bit small for $17.

We will probably be back here to try the sheng jian again to see if they were just a little off this one time or if it’s a regular occurrence for this location.

The service was great and the inside was very clean and welcoming.

Place is great and the food was very good. Plus side is that it's not so busy compared to the Shanghai Plaza location, so you don't have to wait so long for a table. It's also twice the size of the tiny location at Shanghai plaza.

Every plate we had here was absolutely amazing. Delicious and fresh. Love chili oil and the chili paste. I threw that on everything I ate. Yes I did pay for it the next day but it was absolutely worth it. I would recommend to anyone here. The ladies are excellent and kind and are attentive.

The staff and food were excellent. We visited at around 3:20 pm on a weekday and the place was pretty empty. And even though it was empty don’t let that turn you off, it was a situation of don’t judge a book by its cover of its empty when you arrive.
This is one of the few places that serves Sheng Jian Bao and it was delicious I recommend the pork one over the beef. Xiaolong bao was also delicious. They also had a dessert Xiaolong bao with Nutella and banana. It was worth it and was not too rich. It’s almost like a banana and chocolate crepe but made into a single bite. Everything was tasty. The one improvement I would offer is that for them to pressure cook the pork ribs. I really wanted them to fall off the bone, but they were still moist and the flavor was delicious. As for service it also matched or exceeded the food. Our waiter took the time to give us probably one of the most in depth explanations of the menu we’ve ever had and we loved it. He was also very humble too and just overall a kind person. The lady who swept up the glass my sister shattered was very nice too and did a good job choosing the music. It really helped to set the atmosphere. The open kitchen was also pretty cool to watch too. They also refilled our water pitcher multiple times without us asking, changed our plates and cleaned the table between the entrees and dessert. Overall, I think Asian restaurants should strive for this level of service. The service was better than Disney world sit downs and restaurants in Japan. Which is known to be world class. Hopefully it’s the same when they’re busy too, but overall it was really good experience

This place is incredible and very reasonably priced. The soup dumplings are without peer. We also had fried rice, fat noodles, wontons in chile sauce, and dessert dumplings. All the best we've ever had. Highly recommend.

We love dining at the first Shanghai Taste Restaurant at Spring Mountain location so when we heard about the new menus, we need to try it. We enjoyed every bit of it and as always Chef Jimmy’s soup dumplings are the best.
