Awesome food and employees

I was craving some Bibimbap and found this spot. My craving was satisfied and the waitress was friendly and served us quickly.

We recently visited Soyo Southern Highlands for the first time and were very impressed. We had seen a couple of reviews about the service, but our experience was nothing but positive. The staff were welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed before even asking.
We ordered the chicken wings with two flavors - original and soy - and both were delicious and perfectly cooked. The wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We also ordered the boodae jjigae (army stew) and galbi jjim (braised short ribs). Both dishes were flavorful and well-portioned, offering great value for the price.
Overall, we had a great experience at Soyo Southern Highlands. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back again soon!

Stopped by after dancing hula in the area. I wanted Korean food, so I made my way to Soyo.

Nice restaurant. They were not busy, which is perfect for me because I can order quickly, and my food will be served quickly.

I ordered the Kimchee Soup with Pork, no jalapeños. Thank God I did that as I know it would be extremely spicy.

I also enjoyed the ban chan. 4 dishes were served. The kim chee was not hot and I loved the bean sprouts.

Overall, I'd return.

The meat to the Kimpap was burnt and smoked, I know that if it weren’t burnt or smoked it would’ve been good. The Rose rice cakes were good though! Kimpap was not worth the 17$ though :/ not bad overall.

5/27/24 edit: 2nd visit with a date, wait time was about an hour. We sat down 12:40 and food did not come out till 1:30. Restaurant needs to work out staffing and workflow logistics, and/or communicate wait times.

As for the food itself:
* quality wasn’t up to par. The jolmyeon wasn’t properly drained, so we got a soup instead of a sauce.
* one of the side dishes was spoiled (mung bean). Instant gag spit reaction?

Overall: I wouldn’t come here unless you’re willing to gamble an hour of your life and deal with bad food QC.

Overall: I love their Jjolmyeon 쫄면. 5/5 it is a dish I will *crave*.

Jjolmyeon 쫄면: it’s actually kimchi 쫄면. Delicious. On the sweeter side, but properly balanced with acid (vinegar and extra ripe kimchi). Generous amount of kimchi mixed in, each bite is a crunchy amalgram of chewy noodle and tangy kimchi crunch meshed together sweet gochujang.

Kimchi: light crisp tangy - exactly how I like it (it’s not the fancier deep oyster umami type). No sweetness detected, perfect.

Will I come back here again? For the 쫄면 Jjolmyeon, absolutely yes. I will crave it
