My room was very Vegas which I liked. Kinda nostalgic vibe. The view from the window down to the lobby area is quite beautiful. Friendly staff. Easy check in. Parking was perfect. Clean room. Not far from the strip. Nice price. Definitely would come back.
I visit Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall every time I visit Las Vegas. For me, it is a nice deviation from the strip and all the noise and glam. I don’t think that I would ever stay at this hotel but I like to visit the casino and inside eatery area(the Hall) that has live birds and interesting things to see and hear. Unfortunately, on this last visit, the streets and sidewalks leading up to the casino were really dirty and inside of the Hall was in disarray with the fountain not working and things looked a little bleak. Please don’t let this establishment run down any further. It is a staple and an icon that should be preserved. I know the pandemic knocked some businesses off their feet but this place is historical! Patronizing this place will keep it alive!
On the plus side, Sam's is a huge property, and everything you need is onsite. That's a necessary thing though, as the Boulder Strip where it is located, is not exactly the kind of place where you might be wise to try and enjoy a midnight stroll in the moonlight. And many of the patrons at Sam's reflected that. In fairness though, Sam's had an excellent selection of machines, including many older machines. I also enjoyed the Mystic Falls Park, and the food options were many and varied. Sam Boyd had a very distinctive style of architecture in his properties (e.g. MSS and Sam's Town), and the property definitely felt very dated, and really hasn't aged well in terms of style. I also get though that it would cost an absolute fortune to update this vast property, and some folks might say that for them (though not me) Sam's has a certain charm of it's own. Gambling conditions at Sam's are good both in table games and in slots, so that is something to consider as a plus. An interesting visit, as I hadn't been there in over 20 years, but I probably wouldn't pay the high Uber fee to return anytime soon. Still, glad I checked it out again. And it certainly provides good value to locals and/or folks on a tight budget.
Overall experience was very very good. We booked through Expedia and was here June 28-July 2 2023. The whole facility is very well maintained, we had a king room, very spacious, comfy beds. The pool area is awesome, nice and quiet. Was disappointed that the Buffett, shuttle services and Roxys are cancelled. Are you going to ever bring these back to your facility? Looking forward to your answer. Feels like you have stopped catering to the 55+ group.
Check in was a breeze! Room was spotless, updated and cleaned daily! Great security outside and inside of property. The Mystic Falls area provided a great place to relax away from the room and the casino. Overall the property is clean and in good shape. Angry Butcher restaurant had great food, service, and prices. The only disappointment was TGI Fridays. The food was sub par at best. Great place off of the strip and nobody pestering you to buy anything!
I have been a loyal customer of Sam's Town for 1995! Yes, that is 28 years and I travel all the way from across the pond! Some years I visited 4-5 times a year and until now have just LOVED the place. It was friendly, away from the madness of the strip, had several great eateries [now all closed - except one steakhouse [Angry Butcher] which is not half as good at the one they closed and twice the price - RIP Billy Bob's and Wily and Jose's - and a dreadful TGI Fridays ....no thank you!] a good buffet [closed] great staff [many have left/retired] and I enjoyed good loyalty perks [free rooms, free events on occasion, free slot dollars, most of my food/drink comped - and let me add I was never excessive, never 'took advantage' ...] and a great show in the Mystic Falls [now scaled down and with no atmosphere] ...even the staff; that still remain and I know well, have openly commented on how negative the shut downs/changes etc are This visit I was allocated a new casino host [all other hosts have been amazing and I got to know them very well over the years and felt of them as Vegas friends] and sadly that's when it all changed. Suddenly that warmth and welcome was replaced by a more than 'cool' welcome and very few comps, although I had spent the same [if not more] than usual. On ringing through to my room, she began cross questioning my wife, her tone was accusatory and there were comments like "Oh, I didn't think there was anyone else in the room...do you use your wife's casino card ...' etc ...all very odd questions and certainly unfriendly, to be honest rather more of an interrogation. In response I raised a concern in writing and received a rather tart and unpleasant response from someone in management I have never met before. Therefore, after all these years ... I have made the decision that I will not return. That fact is still sinking in and I feel greatly saddened. I have checked on my loyalty account and though I have the same level of affiliation there is NO comp rooms available AT ALL and I feel that somehow I have been blackballed, for simply raising a concern. I will take my loyalty elsewhere and have learnt a lesson. Loyalty and longevity means nothing to the Boyd 'family' connected to Sam's Town.
Wonderful experience for family. Off the strip but. Lose enough to feel the excitement. Beautiful hotel Roth plenty of food options, guest services top notch, and friendly staff. Will definitely stay again
Had a great time in the casino. Hit on a slot that was paying. We all had fun, as this casino has many of the newer slot machines. We also ate while we were there and enjoyed dinner. Would recommend the ride over from the strip, it's worth it.
They pulled out all of the reasonable payback video poker machines. Such a shame as it was a fun place to go. Stayed & played there all the time. We will not be back now. Boyd's has ruined all of their casinos. Used to play Main Street Station but they pulled everything decent & now you walk in there & nobody is there. I mean nobody.
I understand this industry has taken a hit...however, cleanliness, a good handyman and housekeepers could advise Management about these things. Probably at a very low cost. There is, really, no excuse for the pictures of why these items NOT taken care of..is there no quality control?

Previously this was my go to hotel in Las Vegas , it had everything I needed and was perfect for me I realised that covid has had a negative effect on most things so expected samstown to be included But the poker room shut , the buffet shut, the shuttle discontinued hotel rates 50% higher There is simply no reason for me to stay here now which is such a shame But on a positive side the rooms are still in decent condition I’d like to be more positive about an old favourite but I can’t be
Best room of all love the tv size they really take care of their guest and I will be back that is one of the best Boyd hotels I been in thanks guys for making my experience awsome please keep up the good work love this place
Overall had many issues with Sam’s town. Here were the pros and cons. Pros: rooms were pretty nice for the price point. Maintenance staff was nice upon arrival. Casino and halls were very smoky, heated did not work when arriving to room and maintenance took about 2 hours to arrive (apparently they took my room number down wrong and I had to calm back), free wifi was very slow so I had pay to upgrade for internet that was fast enough. Bathtub was not in great shape. Front desk staff was not very friendly. Also for reasons I don’t understand, the parking lot ramp exit for the parking garage nearest the gym was roped off so I had to step over chains and pull my luggage through the opening very awkwardly. If you were in a wheelchair would have had to go a very long way around. Overall unimpressed and wished it had been better.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for our first visit ever to Las Vegas and we had a great time! The Mystic Falls Park inside the casino was a beautiful and cool experience. Our room was clean and spacious and the staff was very friendly. The only caveats I can give is that there are no microwaves in the hotel/casino, so don't plan on re-heating leftovers, and the casino area smelled like cigarette smoke (common at pretty much any casino in Vegas though). If you pay a little extra you can have a room that looks into the Mystic Falls Park or pay the standard price and see outside to the rest of Vegas. Lastly, the location is great if you want to experience more than just the Strip, or want to save a bit of money and don't mind heading about 20 minutes in town to the Strip.
Autumn at the front desk was amazing! Actually all of the staff from bartenders to cleaning staff were wonderful. The mountain view from our room was mesmerizing! Can't wait to come back! Tonya and Hale
