Tasty Island Jamaican Restaurant

Hmm I wasn't going to leave a review because I felt like why bother since it was similar to the other ones but. 🤔We ordered 2 jerk chicken dinners and plantains. I swear we had 1 bite of our dinner and walked out. Left the food right on the table that just cost 60 bucks. Sauce horrible rice was hard chicken definitely didn't taste like jerk extremely disappointed. I swear almost felt like we was bothering them for coming.

The food is always so fresh and delicious! This is our favorite place in all of the city. The pineapple drink is so delicious and refreshing! Always kind service and welcoming. Bless

We tried here before and had a good experience, but today was disappointing. I ordered a combination of jerk chicken and brown stew chicken, while my husband chose an oxtail and jerk chicken plus 2 patties. It was about $70.
Unfortunately, the rice tasted old and hard, and the brown stew chicken was overly salty. The jerk chicken had a stale flavor and smelled like leftover meat. The oxtail was also tough and seemed old.

We called the restaurant to express our concerns, and the owner spoke to my husband. He mentioned that they had cooked the food this morning, which worried me because it raised concerns about the quality of the chicken.

I cannot recommend this restaurant until the freshness of its food is improved.

This place is NOT good at all. I drove by multiple times and I decided to stop by and it was BAD. Walked in and wasn’t greeted at all. Seen 2 ppl sitting in the far right back corner and they didn’t say anything for about maybe 3 mins. The lady gets up and ask what we getting😳. We stayed because we were really hungry.

We ordered and it went from bad to ALL BAD smh. The food was like days old food. The fried jack, festival, and chicken patty was old, hard, and dry dry. The jerk sauce was had cook flavoring but you can tell the chicken was old old. Vegetables had no flavor. Rice dry had to use jerk sauce to eat.
No refunds or returns and now we know why.
Definitely needs to shut down and start over.
I hate doing bad reviews but avoid this place.

Having grown up on an island, any chance I get to have delicious Caribbean cuisine, I take it.
My husband requested tasty island for his birthday on June 16, out of every restaurant in town because we liked the restaurant and haven't had it since 2005.
Our tab came to $168.00 for the food and I had to have a ting (smile).
The service was pleasant and they allowed us to have a seat while we waited. While my husband and I sat there patiently watching NBA finals he mentioned that he didn't smell any food cooking. I sniffed the air and let him know I didn't either but I wanted to give them a chance.
When we got home and started to eat we were disappointed! The patties were overly spicy and tasted like straight paste, no chicken, no beef. My husband ordered jerk chicken, it was dry, old, and drenched in sauce. I ordered a mutton (curry goat) roti that disappointed me to my core because mutton is my favorite and has always been my go to food besides conch patties. The mutton itself was good the roti was terrible. We also ordered curry chicken for our children and it was okay but it was old and disappointing.
I said all that to say this; we will never be returning to this restaurant. Which is sad because we remembered when it was great, now it's a waste of money.

I walked in during lunch time. Nobody was there eating. I used to really like their beef patties. I got 3 today and they were disgusting. No beef at all and filled with a paste. Never going back and wouldn't be surprised if they close down soon.

First off MY MOM THREW UP SMH The food was not fresh be CAREFUL!! No beans in the food because the food is old and the beans would taste spoiled if they give them out ! The jerk wings was dry with sauce on them , if you do eat it go inside because they will over charge you extra over the phone . 30$ for 3 oxtails the vegetables is literally no vegetables with no taste AT ALL …..?idk what happened the food used to be good but not anymore and BIG JERK IS NASTY ALSO SO find some whole new places

First time ordering. Customer service was the worst. Walked in no greeting just a look under the glasses.
Ordered festival, rice and peas, veggie patty and sorrel. The veggie patty crust around the edge was so old and extremely hard also broke my tooth.

I ordered oxtails dinner and jerk chicken. When I got how the food was nasty and tasted old. I didn’t get the food. They have a sign saying no refund or exchange because they know they serving old nasty food. Please do not take your business to them. The oxtails is 28 something dollars and the portion was little baby size crazy.

All I know is if you order the oxtails get an additional side because I was served one smedium and 2 small one of those small was a tiny tip 🤷🏾‍♀️ (less than 2 oz. Of meat weighed literally) and the rice and beans taste it was made without coconut milk. The festival bread .... Omg disgusting super hard and super baking powdery. Never again. And to think I spent $124 including others I suggested and paid for. I am so disappointed. I really want my money back. I won't be eating that. However there jerk wing s were just ok, only complaint the wings were the size of a Cornish hen and that sauce wasn't jerk.... Idk what they're serving. I don't recommend. don't waste your money, it's clear the owner does not care about the food or customers. After reading reviews I see the owner doesn't respond to any views. That speaks volume.

Just no!!!! The food was disgusting.... I should sue for false advertisement... nothing on my plate was tasty. Do not buy the jerk chicken or the roti!!!! The only thing edible was the Curry goat.... but I still give that a 2 out of 5 stars... close down this place and stop scamming people with this horrible food
