The Original Pancake House is renowned for its exceptional breakfasts, offering generous portions. Customers often recommend ordering the smaller portion size. The breakfast menu is praised for its excellence, and the friendly and attentive staff provide excellent service. The turkey club sandwich is described as transcendent, with ample servings. The overall experience is highly enjoyable, with affordable prices that validate the quality of the food and service. This establishment is highly recommended for a satisfying meal.
The Original Pancake House has a long history, with origins dating back to 1953 in Portland, Oregon, and a famous location in Wilmette, Illinois. The Las Vegas branch has been owned and operated by Kim and Stephan Freudenberger since 1995. The concept was created by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke, and today, there are over 120 restaurants across the country, known for their use of high-quality butter, pure whipping cream, and grade AA eggs. Guests can typically expect a brief wait to be seated during the hours of 7 am to 2 pm, surrounded by a homey atmosphere and friendly service.
In addition to its renowned pancakes, the menu offers a variety of options, including baked omelets and plates like "The Traditional," served with potatoes and meat. Coffee is freely refillable, and additional beverages include Coke products and freshly squeezed orange or grapefruit juice. The restaurant has been recognized with a Beard Award, and the Las Vegas location is the only one since a store on Charleston burned down in 2012. Fans of The Original Pancake House will delight in the German pancake and the smaller Dutch baby, served with a DIY glaze and a generous rise surrounding the souffle center.
