My husband and I have been here several times. The food is always good, but service can be slow. Often times you will be standing in the front waiting to be serviced and workers will walk passed you and not acknowledge you, which can be frustrating. The small table seats have you almost elbow to elbow with other people eating next to you, very awkward to sit down and to get up.

Can’t rate the food because we didn’t have a chance to even try it. Our first experience wasn’t even past the check-in desk. Told it was a shift change and it would be an hour wait. Then she said it would be more like 30 min wait. Well after 18 minutes, we asked. Told we were quoted 90 min wait. Then people who walked in asking wait times are being told 60 min or less. She then said party’s of 2 or 3 are different. No, it’s first on reservation list gets priority.We ended up going to Sushi Loca. Sucks they’re not AYCE, but I gladly paid $165 to a sushi spot who respects its customers and doesn’t look and treat you like a liar. I hope more AYCE options open up in the Northwest. Sadly I doubt Umami can do anything to change my mind. And we haven’t even tried the food. Lol

Food and service are above and beyond. The only dislike I have is that the music is too loud, I wish they played more calming and relaxing music just like the sushi restaurants in Japan I can't barely hear my friends voice while talking to me and also their air conditioning is too high. We're shivering, thanks to miso soup, which keeps me warm. Lol. So if you’re planning to go here, make sure you have a sweater with you. Still recommend this place for good food and service.

In the past I have done take out from this location, but I decided to dine in recently. I will NEVER be back. They have the worst service I have ever experienced since being in Vegas and the tables and booths felt disgusting! Overall, worst experience I have ever had dining in. My family and I left grossed out, uneasy, still hungry and thirsty! Save your time and money and go somewhere else.Story 1:While there I had to BEG different employees for chopsticks, napkins and plates for about 12 mins in order for my table to eat the food we had ordered ( we were a table of ONLY THREE people and I couldnt find my waitress, so I asked for help from the employees who walked by). We wanted to order more food because we got the all you can eat dinner menu, but we couldnt get our waitress to come back to our table.I saw our waitress exactly 2 times the whole time we were there. Once when she took our initial order: 3 small Appetizers and three rolls. Then for the check to leave.I had to track down our waitress in the end because we were instructed to FIND OUR OWN WAITRESS if we needed anything! With an attitude! Like what! I literally had another waistress ROLL her eyes at me when I asked for help. Like I would have asked my waitress for water, but I couldnt find her!! When I finally saw our waitress she was busy helping larger tables of people on the other side of the Restaurant and I think thats why she never came back to us.It would have been cheaper to pay A La Carte, but once I got the bill I paid a left.Story 2: When we were eating, I saw an ununaccompanied male minor about 12-13 years old, walk into the Restaurant with a Box of candy. He walked up to our table looked us up and down and then looked my purse and demanded I buy some candy. He got an attitude when I told him I had no cash. He was frustrated and it felt like he wanted to lash out in a temper, but my husband instructed him to walk away.This kid was not a sweet little kid trying to sell candy, he was a rude and aggressive. The unaccompanied minor proceeded to walk his way through the restaurant to other tables, seemed like this was not his first time doing this in there.An employee attempted to excort him out once they were notified what he was doing by another customer. When the kid was confronted to leave he starting cussing, talking back, got physical with the employee and actaually threw things at her. That sort of behavior in general made us very upset, let alone having do deal with that in a Restaurant.This experience made our night even worse then it already was with the bad customer service.

The wait was long when we arrived for dinner but it’s worth the wait. Leland was our server and as always he is awesome. The last few visits to Umami with my family was such a great experience from the host to the food to having a great server. Leland is always suggesting to try items and his suggestions are pretty good! Thank you Leland for taking care of us and for continuing to give us that great experience! My kids said they will definitely return!Dietary restrictions: No rice

We always have a great experience here. This is my 3rd visit with my family and our server Leland is great! He has an upbeat personality,very welcoming and makes great suggestions! Thank you Leland for giving us a great Umami experience!Dietary restrictions: Leland suggested no-rice options which my son loved because he is on a no rice diet.

Umami has improved a lot. I have been going here since 2019, before the remodel. Sushi was great back then but after the pandemic I noticed their rolls would fall apart and just didn’t meet my expectations. I tried it again recently and it is delicious and great. This is back to being my go to. They offer a lot more rolls than the previous place I went to. The service is great. Always nice, welcoming and makes sure I am taken care of. I highly recommend!
