Excellent food. I got the ground pork and egg rice pot and some chrysanthemum tea and it was all lovely. Highly recommend. It was quiet when I went there.

It was my first time trying claypot rice! It came with a small dish of sweet pickled cabbage and carrot, and a cute little bowl of steamed egg. ?? Since it took a little time to cook the clay pot rice, the steamed egg was getting a little cold by the time the rice was ready. ⏰?

I had the beef spare ribs and my husband had the three meats. I much preferred his dish. The salted duck was very tasty. Just be careful of the tiny broken bones. ??? My beef spare ribs were very chewy. I was hoping that they had more flavor and were easier to eat. ??‍♀️

There was a slight crust on the bottom of the clay pot. I wish it had much more crunch. ?? #ClaypotRice #FoodAdventure #FoodieLife

First time visiting in a weekday’s afternoon.

Iced chrysanthemum tea is so refreshing.

Side dish: pickles are crunchy and sweet; steamed egg is smooth and well seasoned with soy sauce.

Ordered two clay pot dishes: beef stew and pork belly. Both of them are yummy, and the portion of the protein is generous. The gravy from the stew is a highlight, and the home made soy sauce perfect the seasoning at another level.

The service from the staff has room to improve. You need hands up, otherwise nobody comes to you.

*RACISM WARNING

Ate here with my wife & while the food was okay (I've had better rice) & the staff was decent enough...another older customer spent most her meal staring at us,it was only my wife & I & this other couple in the restaurant.

While this other couple walked in the lady saw us,stopped in her tracks,& pointed like something was wrong.

Unfortunately,if I had to guess, its because me & my wife are black...& It made us feel extremely uncomfortable & from what I can tell the owner did nothing about it but welcome them as guest.

I'm a resident of Chinatown & have supported many businesses here for 4 years with no issues, this is the first time I've run into being treated differently due to my race at a restaurant here,so this will be the last time I'll ever visit this establishment.

If you aren't Chinese I'd probably stay away,I got the vibe that they view it as a place for "them".

So they can keep it,& I'll keep my money.

Love this place for a classic clay pot rice! Each clay pot comes with steamed egg and pickles. We got D1 and D8. Crispy rice on the edge of the pots. Family run, clean, modern and good service. Will be back! Consider this place in chinatown and the tea maison bubble tea / 85 degree bakery in this shanghai plaza!

I don't know how this place only has a 4.1 star. It's literally the best Chinese food you can have. It's not gross American Chinese food. It's like actual healthy high-quality high Chinese food. I specifically come here every time I'm in Las Vegas. this is probably my fifth time and I plan on coming twice this trip. Today I will be taking a Lyft back here just because it's so good, affordable too.

I ordered a claypot rice with pork and plums and vegetables, but what was served was a separate portion of pork with plums and vegetables and a separate pot of white rice, which was not the traditional claypot rice. The braised pork stew with plums and vegetables is a pre-made dish. I don’t know which supermarket bought it as frozen food. It tastes very salty. It was obviously put in the microwave or taken out of the steamer before serving, because there is pork between the meat slices. The oil has not melted, the outside is hot, but halfway through the bite, the meat in the middle is no longer hot. The fat waiter served the food as if she had just watched a horror movie, serious and nervous, which made people lose their appetite when they saw her face. You talk to her, but she ignores you and looks sad. The table was too small to hold the food, and she moved the cutlery rudely, even pretending not to notice when a spoon dropped on the greasy table, and then walked away. But she was very attentive to non-Asian guests. She kept talking, telling everyone to be careful not to burn their mouths when eating, and also introduced the dishes one by one. My friends and I will never visit this restaurant again. I ordered a pork casserole with preserved vegetables, but what was served was a pork casserole with cabbage and a pot of white rice casserole, which was not a traditional rice casserole. The pork casserole with preserved vegetables was a pre-made dish, I don 't know which supermarket bought frozen food, it tasted very salty, it was clearly put in the microwave or taken out of the steamer before serving, because there was still lard between the slices of meat that had not melted, the outside was hot, and halfway through the bite, the middle of the meat was not hot. The fat waitress served the food like she had just watched a horror movie, serious and nervous, you lose your appetite as soon as you see her face. She ignored you when you talked to her, and had a sad face. The table was too small, it could hardly fit the food, she was rude when moving the utensils, and even pretended not to see it when she dropped the spoon on the greasy table and walked away. But she was very attentive to the non-Asian guests, talking non-stop, telling people to be careful when eating, be careful not to burn their mouths, and introducing the dishes one by one. Healthier, casual Canto clay rice dish, congee and herbal soups. Takeout from Shanghai Plaza is difficult (20min wait which is the time to find parking)...$19 Three Preserved Meat was tasty! It came with nuts and tofu appetizers (tofu one was interestingly new to me, or done off but still tasty as included free). It's not exact but I'd come back!! That says alot when there is probably only 1 other semi-solid Chinese place I like as and in local Vegas. For 626/SGV ppl, it's not bad. Don't expect much. BUT WAYYYY better than the gross westernized greasy, mushy, weird version of food China Mama is serving now.

That and $18 Chicken and Mushroom were the most popular rice choices. If you don't think of them as a clay pot dish, and more of a rice dish then it's great for Vegas. For local Vegas, this place is amazing as a slight knockoff. It's like Vegas' version of as best as it can get of Green Zone (626/SGV great healthy dishes). Local Vegas is notorious for bad Chinese food. Again expect a normal rice dish vs clay pot then maybe you'll enjoy it differently.

Wish the rice diah was a bit more affordable in price for casual takeout for local Vegas. Clay pot does cost more due to the work but they aren't offering the expected texture of a clay pot crisp. But the price makes sense since Shanghai Plaza is tourist central. I didn't know the restaurant was located in the Shanghai Plaza (newly developed, with absolutely no accountability to parking and the community = I'm sure the developers and city approvals pocked a good amount of money off that decision).

Overall we enjoyed it and plan to grab takeout again (maybe park away and make it into a stroll). I see mixed reviews on this place. I gave up thinking local Vegas had any good everyday Canto comfort food. So a place with decent quality, texture and taste is a HUGE for local Vegas. You'll be surprised with how many places that can't make just the lower bar of all 3 -- quality, texture and taste.

Looking forward to trying their soup section!! And the congee!

I love this place. The clay pot rice and the soups are so good. I ordered frog legs for my rice. There was a lot of meat, and it was very tender. I would recommend it to anyone who likes clay pot rice.

Portion size is too small. Only a few pieces of meat and 60% of pot is rice. Pork is 80% fat or bones.

The complementary steamed egg pudding was tender and light, the pickled veggies were a little too sweet. The dried scallops and winter melon soup was very tasteful, while the mushrooms and chicken soup was bland. The claypot eel rice was cooked perfectly, very flavorful. The service was fine.
