Staff have been replaced as of week 3 september 2022. I used to eat here three times a week, along with a number of my coworkers. Now after three plates in a ROW being absolutely inedible, TO THE POINT WHERE I JUST THREW MY THIRTEEN DOLLARS INTO THE TRASH WITHOUT CONSIDERATION, I have conceded to the pizza from the Sinclair station next door, which is awful, but at least it's better than having your food destroyed by bad restaurant staff who can't cook something as simple as a cheeseburger in less than THIRTY MINUTES. not even joking about that plate time either. Things that have changed: burgers no longer taste good. same goes for anything on the menu, including the roast beef, and chicken strips. Ranch dip now comes from a foodservice tub instead of being made fresh and tastes awful. French fries are now cooked to the point that one is better off just getting a bag of potato chips to avoid total disappointment. The new server is useless, literally. nice a** though, as if that could count for anything. If you are local and thought you might pay a visit to a favorite place for lunch, its GONE! think again! So, save your money for the taco bell or jack in the box in Dayton. It's a sad day here in Mound house. Especially for the owners of highway 50 food, who are likely now going to have just a few weeks to resolve this problem before the doors are closed for good. i dont have much faith in highway 50 food's survival. After catching a glimpse of the disgustingly filthy line cook the owners replaced the good line cook who made good, tasty food with... it won't be long before they get cited by the health department and lose all the business they had fostered. I won't be throwing my money in the toilet here again any time soon. Friendly advice, save your money for a place that gives food you will actually eat.

Definitely a hidden gem. Burgers here are far better than any of the restaurants in Dayton and Virginia City. Gourmet-class food in a unassuming atmosphere. Super nice folks. Check this place out on your way home to Dayton/Moundhouse or as you’re passing through between Fallon and Carson.

Wonderful food. Best deep fried mushrooms on the planet. Great service. Not fast food. Expect to wait a couple of minutes for your food to be cooked perfectly. It's totally worth it.

This place was awesome! The most awesome food! great customer service and very good prices! I ordered the BLT and fried zucchini! The box was FULL of huge breaded zucchini's my son ordered the jalapeño burger he said it was the best burger he's ever ate out! The onion rings were FIRE ? If u havent tried this place i totally recommend it! In todays economy u get more than u pay for! Like where can u get a HUGE burger with fries for 11.00 bucks?! NO WHERE, but u can here! I will drive all the way from topaz to eat here again! Thank u for the awesome food and great service!!!!!

The staff are amazing especially with all the challenges they face in such a business in this new post covidia world. All facts available I see no reason why this is not the greatest sammich diner. Only gave 4 instead of 5 cuz nothing is ever quite perfect in this world so always room for improvements. But as far as those on hand at any time they all get 5 stars. If you ever need the best food for any occasion these guys are the way to go. Give em a try. You may need to not be in a rush since they do get busy and may be under staffed at that moment but trust me it's always well worth the wait.

Great burgers nice little hole in the wall kind of joint. We come here at least a few of times a month we don't eat out often. I'm pretty simple I'm like the bacon cheese burger but the Ortega burger is awesome as well! Definitely try this place out, nice staff and good food!

If you're looking for a great burger with lots of options at a great price, your search is now over. This is a great family run business with amazing American food. We had the Jalapeño Ortega Cheeseburger, the Mark Twain Cheeseburger, and a regular Cheeseburger. We also tried the onion rings and the mac salad, everything was cooked perfectly and made with care. I would post a pic but we all ate the food too fast because it was so good, lol.

Had the fish and chips. Best drop fried fish I've had in a while. Nice and crispy, light flavor, and not too strong on the fish flavor. I believe it was pollack. Service was quick and friendly.

We were on our way back to carson from camping and decided to stop and grab dinner so we wouldn't have to cook when we got home. Food was great, we got the fish sandwich with onion Rings and a French dip with fries. Everything was really good but the fish sandwich was awesome, and HUGE. The lady that took my order was really nice. We will definitely be back. Oh, we also got our food to go and sat in our trailer in the parking lot to eat. That was kinda fun too
