Went for lunch and was great! They have a book with historical news events from the town that was really cool!

The best thing I can say about this place is that the service was very friendly and the pancakes were good. It took a couple of tries to order as they were out of a few key ingredients. But my simple skillet didn’t contain half of the description on the menu and there was no warning they were out of the veggies or explanation or apology upon delivery. They did say they were out of multiple things as it was a Sunday in their deliveries didn’t happen until Tuesday, but not the ingredients of what I ordered (our third try ordering).

The coffee tasted like warm water and only had flavor if you put creamer and sugar in it. I am pretty sure we got the “tourist menu” as the prices were very high and there was no way a local would pay that kind of money for basic breakfast food ($25 for steak and eggs, $15 for a breakfast burrito, $7 for one pancake and $10 for two).

Clearly, a local favorite spot since the entire bar counter was filled with locals happy to see each other! But all they drank was coffee. Didn’t see any of them eating food.

Come on a Thursday when they have all the ingredients!

Food is excellent. Service with a smile and we learned it's the oldest cafe in Nevada. Love my state!

We ate there in November 25 and were delighted with the service, the friendliness of the staff and, of course, the fabulous food. We took a photo of the cafe and I wrote a nice letter, mailed to the correct address, and got it back to as undeliverable. I addressed it ti Shena, unfortunately did not know her last name. But the address was definitely correct. I will now mail it again and hope it will be received. It is certainly a gem in the desert and worth a visit!

We came in right at closing and they were so gracious and made us feel welcome and not rushed. Very nice folks and the food was REALLY good! My buddy and I both got their roast beef Philly. AMAZING!

Every year, like clockwork, our lively entourage of thirty-something merrymakers from Vegas descends upon the Historic Silver Café the day after Thanksgiving. It's tradition, and let me tell you, this place never disappoints!

This time, the café outdid itself! They seated the kiddos in a separate room with board games and puzzles. It was like a kids' paradise, and we parents got to enjoy our meal in blissful peace. Genius move, Silver Café!

Now, onto the treasure-hunt-worthy food. The pizza! Oh boy, it was so good it practically went straight from plate to legend status. And the French fries—they’re slices of heaven, freshly cut from real potatoes, not the frozen kind. Talk about taking taste to the next level.

And the cherry on top? The prices are super reasonable, making our tradition both tasty and cost-effective!

Huge thanks to the Silver Café crew for letting us take over each year. You've welcomed us so warmly that some of us are contemplating trading the Vegas lights for Pioche's charm. This seasoned teacher is eyeing a change of scenery, perhaps?

Bottom line: For fantastic food and family memory-making, the Historic Silver Café is a gem we’re lucky to call tradition. Until next year! 🍽️🎉

I had the Reuben, which was sooo good. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is relaxed. Bit of an Old West feel. Prices are reasonable. Home chips yummy. Wish I could eat here every day.

We waited to get menus for at least 1/2 hr at least another 1/2 hour to get our order taken. Ordered the chef salad for 11.49, it was the size of a dinner salad with minimal bacon, ham and turkey. Another had the chicken wings with BBQ sauce. Said the chicken was dry and tough and the sauce tasted like ketchup. This was sad. The waitress was rushed and there weren’t that many people in. She never offered refills on our drinks or checked on us until the end of our meal. Way over priced for the quality and service. We were there on the 8th of Nov about 5:30 pm.
