Lovely cafe
We were married at the Idle Hour on June 17, 2023 and Candace and her team catered our small wedding (about 30 people). They did a fantastic job, we had marinated tri-tip, cedar planked salmon, truffle macaroni and cheese (loved by kids and adults!), roasted veggies, roasted potatoes and focaccia. Everything tasted great, the tri-tip was a perfect medium-rare and whatever they marinated it in was delicious. The salmon was soft and luscious. I wish we would have doubled the order for the mac and cheese so we could take it home and eat it the rest of the week. The veggies were a nice mix of summer squash, asparagus and mushrooms. The potatoes were seasoned well. The staff were professional and helpful; seriously so friendly and went the extra mile. The set up looked great and all of our guest complimented the food. I couldn't be happier that we chose Bella Tahoe.
Such a disappointment. We were excited to use them for catering our wedding and unfortunately due to the pandemic we had to cancel our wedding. Instead of being understanding, Candace, ended up suing us because we could not have it. To top it off, she tried to sue us for her attorney fees for a of $37,000+ for a matter that didn't even need to go to court. No work was done and our dates we had for our wedding it wasn't even legal to have an event such as a large wedding. Needless to say, Candace is a horrible person, lacking morals, and she has no business ethics whatsoever. Save yourself the grief and disappointment and go with someone else in the area.

Candace and her team are some of the most hard working, passionate, and friendly people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Every single dish they make is incredible. The bakery!!! Try all of the desserts! If you choose to work with the Bella Tahoe team, you will not be disappointed.

Unreliable lousy business. Ordered through grub hub, they confirmed my order, I drove all the way there and they said “they haven’t confirmed any orders”.. what a waste of my time. They also said “we’re not even open” but according to their hours and the fact they answered the phone, they are open. Many other catering companies here in Tahoe. Message me if you need any recommendations.

Bella Tahoe just delivered the Best and Freshest Deli Sandwiches to us. The "Rubicon" sandwiches were still warm! Thank You Chef Candace and Staff for bringing our Crew lunch today!

WARNING! NOT RECOMMENDED! DO NOT USE! We were supposed to get married in May of this year and we were slated to use Bella Tahoe but due to the Global Pandemic, COVID-19, we had to postpone. With how things are going, local and state governments (CA) are now mandating us to postpone yet again. Cancelling our wedding twice has been hard enough as is.We notified Candace, the owner to let her know after signing a contract and paying a $3,000.00 deposit. She didn't reply to us for over 5 days, after my persistent follow up. She then replied telling us we were going to have to pay a $500 rescheduling fee! Really, we are trying to follow the laws and mandates provided by local and state level governments. Not only that, we are trying to protect ourselves, our guests, the caterer (Candace) and her staff, which is what we told her, yet she clearly has no care for human kind, nor her staff. She then proceeded to try and demand the $500 rescheduling fee that she has no right to per her contract.I then reviewed the contract thoroughly and other litigation due to COVID. The contract had an "act of god" prevention. A global pandemic is NOT an act of god, it is an unpredictable act of science and health. COVID-19 is not an act of God in the legal sense because human forces (interaction with others) have caused the worldwide spread of the virus.COVID-19 may fall squarely into a force majeure clause which might include certain events beyond any of the party's control like pandemics, epidemics, and quarantines, but the analysis does not end there. The party invoking force majeure must show that it is impossible to perform its obligations under the contract (which we are able to show and have the mandates of local and state backing us).Due to the current guidelines and restrictions it was not possible to have Bella Tahoe as our caterer and have them provide the agreed services. Not only that, within their own contract they state that they will not conduct or condone unlawful activities, yet they are not willing to let us reschedule without a fee due to a change in Laws and Guidelines enforced by local and state governments. Guess they don't mind breaking their own contract and following the local and states mandates/laws. Candace (the owner) will however have no problem trying to keep your money and demanding more when it is out of your control and you don't want to break laws nor local mandates. Even you are looking out for the health, safety and well being of her and her staff.This is a total scumbag move by Candace and we are not standing for it, nor should any who is experiencing the same. It is not right for others to try and keep others hard earned money when it is out of their control and they have provided no services to be able to collect it. No judge will rule in favor of a business who is doing so, unless you have signed a document that has a force majeure as a scapegoat. Unfortunately for Candace and Bella Tahoe, they don't have that out and it is far from ethical to try and enforce it in times like these.Steer clear of these folks and do NOT use them. Folks who lack business ethics should not be running a business. They need to be stood up to and held accountable for their unethical business practices.

I ordered the French onion soup, cranberry walnut chicken salad, chicken meatloaf, shrimp scampi and the lemon blueberry cake with cream cheese frosting from the weekly special. Let me start by saying that Bella Tahoe Catering went above and beyond. Everything was delicious and prepared with all the love, my personalized note on my chicken wraps really enchanted the experience. Plus they delivered!!!! Who wants to have their amazingly delicious dinner delivered for no extra charge? It’s me, I want that! I highly recommend Bella Tahoe catering!
