Antojitos Dona Chona

The place is very nice decorated, it is spacious and very clean, it has many options to buy “candy” or things (candy) from our country, that is the best part. They have palm trees from Michoacán that are delicious and have a lot of flavors. I was very excited to go in and when I saw the display case of pure Mexican sweets it was very pleasant. You expect the place to be run by Mexicans because that is what it shows, however, the customer service is more or less because the Lady who makes the fruits is very serious and even angry. The young man serving couldn't tell the prices in Spanish, ? he wasn't rude or anything, he was just a young man who couldn't speak Spanish well, but he tried, just a bit disappointing. The sad part was that we ordered mango with watermelon. The watermelon was good, discolored but had a sweet taste. but the mango was dry and it seemed like you were biting into a hard apple and it had no flavor at all. I don't think that mango should be served like that. I insist on the Mexican vibe because it seems to be a place for Mexicans (although I'm sure Americans also go there). If you recommended the place to buy sweets and so on, but not fruit, I understand that it is not the same to buy fruit here as in Mexico. I suggest to the administration that they not sell the fruit like this and I know that it is only my opinion.

Cute little place we stopped at before our hotel to get some snacks and sweets. I love to stop and get fruit cups and cueritos. Everything was great, they were out of bananas. So I got a milkshake instead.

Shared a banana split with my husband, was so, so delicious and if passing thru Winnemucca, Nevada again, this is a MUST stop!!! Fantastic!!!

This was a lot of food but oml it was SO GOOD. The Fresas con Crema and Takis locos were amazing. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Not so sure about the brined pork rinds on top but I had never tried them before and figured I may as well humor my ancestors. 10/10 would 100% go here again.
