Valentines dinner date; attentive staff but not overbearing. Delicious and authentic food with a relaxing ambiance that still felt lively and upscale. Calamari is excellent as is the baked salmon! Lisa's Sticky Buns are a must!
The food was very disappointing especially for the prices charged. Our $40 plus order of shellfish linguine included very small and tasteless scallops and shrimp with a watery red sauce. Appears as though it came out of a fast food place or a grocery store. We ordered tiramisu and it was in a cocktail glass rather than a desert plate and consisted of very thick and overly sweet whipped cream and a small square of angel food cake at the bottom. It was definately not tirimiu but they charged $12. I mentioned it to the server and she said "Oh ya, it's more like a pudding." Ordered cappuccino but had to get coffee because their machine was broken. Service was mediocre at best and they were unable or unwilling to make a small accomodation on the order. Terrible experience and will not go back.
As always top notch. A must every time we get up the hill!! Lobster Campanella & Chocolate lasagna ROCK! Really though you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Service is always on spot.
Excellent customer service, excellent food, and just an overall great place to eat. The staff is very attentive and super friendly. Highly recommend this place.
Service was slow with only a handful Of tables being served. The food was cold, dry, and generic. I never mind paying well for good food and service but this was not worth the money at all. There are other Italian restaurants in South Tahoe that I will try on the future.
Amazing food. Nice atmosphere. They were out of a few things we wanted but made do. We had a great family night.
My wife and I ate at Capisce in October. We had just spent 18 days touring the Tuscany region of Italy in September (the food in Italy is incredible!). The dinner we had at Capisce was as good as, and in some cases, better than what we found in Italy. No-one was more surprised than us. The pasta was perfect, the sauces were rich and very well seasoned. All I can say is that these people know what they're doing. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Capisce is our go to restaurant whenever we come to Lake Tahoe. The Shrimp Scampi is the bomb and paired with fruit and cranberry salad, you will be in saying Bellissimo! Tuto bene! Do you understand? Capisce?
Absolutely fabulous meal! Their menu has so many options. I went with their specialty Raviolis. The Gravy (sauce) combined with real home made pasta was bar none the best Raviolis I have ever had. The vinegar and oil for the bread was different and better than any I've had as well. U will not be sorry for eating here its simply excellent. CFW-
Great food just love this place.

We're vacationing here as we have for several years. Since discovering Capisce? we always make sure we dine there at least once. This year was a disappointment. Service was fine. My Penne Amore was good but my husband's Chicken Parmesan was very disappointing. Even with the steak knife that was served with his dish he found it difficult to cut his chicken breast. Both of us were surprised with the smaller portions and increased prices. Each of our entrees were $32.00. Not what we expected.
Absolutely gross. Service was slow but friendly. Music was good. Food is expensive slop. Def don’t order the trio. And even the Lollie pops are yuck. But at least they cleared the food flavor.
We have been visiting this restaurant since it opened every summer when we are at ZC. I always order the lobster pasta dish, and the next the raviolis with "gravy". Food is delicious and homemade. They have a full bar with reasonable price. It is family owned which makes it special. You won't be disappointed.
Can't say enough about our experience at Capisce!! If you're on the fence about making a reservation, just do it! We ate at several other steak houses in Lake Tahoe, but enjoyed the Italian cuisine probably the most of all!
They were clearly understaffed. Our waitress was very nice but had been forced into double duty as the hostess at the front door too. We weren't acknowledged at our table for 15 minutes after sitting down, then it took another 15 to get our beverages. The place was not busy but from what I could tell there were 2 waitresses total, including ours that was also having to do hostess duties. If there was a manager present, they should have been hosting... Unless they were cooking lol.Again, not blaming the folks we saw working, for all we know 2 or 3 people called in sick or something. But at the same time, in all honesty, we did not have a good experience. The food was decent but not great and definitely not worth what we paid. On a positive note, the restaurant atmosphere and ambiance were great. They need some nice comfy chairs for the huge front porch, tons of wasted space out there.
