On September 29th., I booked a 3 night stay, $550.34, some how a booking fee was added, around $150. We went to the room, which was supposed to be a view of the Seaway, it was a room, not a very good one, overlooking a boat livery, not good. I went to the desk, an hour later, told the gal, not good, checking out, credit my account. She said ' can't do that as it was made through HTL*BONNIECASTLERE. So, I called 800-468-3578. I was told I would be credited in 7 days. Never happened. The card I used was Synchrony Bank, so I filed a dispute, a month later, I received my credit back. Today, I was rebilled for $550.34 from HTL*BONNIECASTLERE. Now Iam filing again with Synchrony. Beware of Bonnie Castle, stay anywhere else.

We recently missed the chance to stay at the Bonnie Castle Resort due to weather issues but I can say that the staff were super friendly and very helpful, both with providing advice to Southerners trying to negotiate lake effect snow storms, and in handling our reservation needs. We hope to have the chance to actually come visit some time in the future!

Not impressed. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Room was dated. Continental breakfast is less than impressive. Coffee tasted old danishes were hard.
The view is however amazing
Rooms: Dated and uncomfortable

Fairly priced rooms, very nice pool facilities. In summer they have a few nice restaurants / nightclubs on site.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! This place was miserable. Our room was absolutely filthy, rusty, dusty, reeked of mold, dead bugs, stains, and had exposed electrical. Our room also had the cigarette butt container right outside and also led to odors in our room with the AC running. We had the only room without a balcony or seating area. The are is very poorly lit at night. Please use your money somewhere else!!!!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING & HORRIBLE!! They pulled a Bait & Switch, the room advertised looked nothing like what we got! They showed CLEAN, DECENT room. This was NOT what we got!! The room was FULL of live spiders and dead bugs! Spiders in 2 corners of ceiling, on ceiling and on floor. Dead bugs ALL over the the lamp shades, pillows & counter. The bed was made with the flat sheet ON TOP of the comforter. How unsanitary! The point is to have sheet touch people and wash that especially, as well as comforter. Run down/ beat up furniture. The blue chair was gross, the armrests were filthy with ground in dirt besides being old and worn. And NOTHING like the furniture in the website/app! Rust all over the bedside lamps and bases. Couldn’t/didn’t dare use the whirlpool tub! Light above it was falling out of the ceiling, someone else’s hair in it, red smear marks in it, and what looked to be some type of thick goo or substance in the filters/jets that were afraid would make it into our water. It was GROSS! The “kitchenette”, was a joke! The tiny sink was LITERALLY 1/3 under the counter! It was barely big enough for adult man to fit in. Old “Bates Motel keys”, no electronic pass cards. And NO OTHER locks, no deadbolt or even a chain lock! VERY UNSAFE!! The connecting room door, only had one twist turn lock, no lock on door handle, VERY UNSAFE!! Couldn’t use the balcony at all for view, it was FULL of spiders. I will NEVER EVER stay here AGAIN!! I HIGHLY encourage anyone thinking of staying here to read reviews and take them SERIOUSLY!! I have SO many pics to prove, not sure if or how many I can post.

We had high hopes for this hotel. It was definitely not what was advertised on the website. It was dirty, holes in the walls in the hotel room, dead bugs squished on the lamps, a random light bulb in the bathroom, I wouldn't use the jacuzzi in the room for fear I'd get electrocuted from the shotty electrical. The "fitness" center smelled like old urine and the Summerland indoor pool area looked like it belonged in a 70s cocaine party. The location was beautiful but that's the only thing you're paying for here.

Rooms were not clean. Had bugs dead in the corner of the ceiling. The lamp by the window didn’t turn on and was ready to fall apart it was so wobbly and the other lights some were burnt out. Friday night there was a band in the building and it shook our room all night long until 11pm. I will never stay here again. For the price of this room it should have been clean and lights should have worked. It is very outdated and needs alot of work. If you say at Bonnie Castle (and I suggest you don’t) make sure a band hasn’t booked to play or you will be up all night with banging and lots of noise. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I didnt stay at the resort, I was scuba diving in the bay. But the grounds are well kept and you always see maintenance workers running around.
Nearby activities: Theres a small bay for scuba diving with platforms and such. You can swim in one direction to an old car, there's a couple sail boats, and always some fish.

We paid WAY too much for the low quality of this hotel. It's old and dingy. Our room was on the ground floor and we couldn't open our curtains for our entire stay because the parking lot was right outside and people could see directly into our room. The lighting in the room was really bad. Everything felt old, worn, and uninviting. The hair dryer looks like it's from the 80's and barely blows air. We paid extra for the jacuzzi tub and I wouldn't touch that thing with a ten foot pole. Our bathroom had 360 mirrors which sounds cool but you'll see your body in way too much detail while sitting on the toilet. Nightmare. But the worst part is that our room smelled like mildew and I dreaded going back to our room in the evenings because of it. Honestly, I was relieved to leave. These rooms shouldn't be over $100 a night, let alone double or triple that. Wish we'd stayed elsewhere.

Great show tonight material girls. Need security to keep people off chairs and tables.

I had booked this room for my boyfriend and I. We were told we had a check in time at 12pm. So we arrived then and they said they would call us when our room was ready. We went and did a few things in town and came back at 4. They said our room was not ready and that they’ll just give us a different room…. I paid extra to have a jacuzzi tub. The first room we got had a HORRIBLE overwhelming smell of mold and must. I tried to air the room out but it was not getting better. Also the rooms are wayyyyy outdated. Went to the front desk they gave us a different room. The next room we got in, had long black strands of hair all over the bed. So we were on dirty sheets. Not to mention spiders all in the room. The room was disgusting, there was no way I was getting in the jacuzzi tub. So at that point we were tired and over it. We didn’t want the desk ladies to try and talk us into staying. We left the keys on the counter and lost 160$ for our room that night. We drove all the way home because all the hotels in the area were booked.Worse hotel experience yet.

Walkability: Quick walk into town and the main drag, well lit at night as well.
I WOULD HAVE GIVEN 0 STARS IF THE OPTION WAS THERE. This place may have been nice in the 80s but it is well past it’s prime. The room had bubbling paint on the walls, cracked lampshades, non-functioning sockets, a rusty sink with a leaking faucet, and a balcony that was always wet from the air conditioner. In addition the roof leaked in the hallway which often had smoke covering the musty smell. The hallway way often cluttered with trash bags or dirty linen. The hotel has three restaurants but they are only open on weekends and none serve breakfast. Housekeeping didn’t come to our room until I called at 16:30 and didn’t empty the trash or clean the room at all. We paid over $300 dollars a night for what was definitely a below $100 dollar value. This place should be condemned and bulldozed flat.
