I came here on the 4th of July, which was a fun and new experience for me. It was very busy, but the staff were incredibly kind and made sure everyone was feeling seen and helped. They gave everyone special attention and although the line was slow to sit down, it was normal because it was one of the busiest days of the year. The dinner was delicious and were large portions.
I do, however, think they might have been understaffed that night. I talked to some people working there, and they were working simultaneously as the hosts and the bussers for the tables, which is a stressful job to do. I wanted to write a review to say thank you to everyone who worked that night, especially the hosts/bussers.
The River House made my experience of an American 4th of July very special. I will come back to Alexandria Bay and will definitely come back here again and sit outside on the deck. It is a nice place for a family, or for a date, or to enjoy with friends. Thanks again.

Order the Tour Of Sicily. You will not be disappointed, unless you try to finish the entire meal in one sitting. I can’t wait to go back and try other meals.

I hate giving a bad review but this place was just awful between the large dogs on the back deck.my chair fell through the hole in the deck and there was multiple. The hostes was in outer space I think it took 25 minutes to order a beverage and another ten to receive it our options where limited because the oven was broken I could go on but I won't and the place was not even busy for the service to be so unprofessional.

We dined at the River House Restaurant on a Sunday evening. There was no wait for our party of 6 to eat on the deck. There was music but it wasn't too loud. The atmosphere was good for our laid-back party. The food service was a little slow and their fish fryer was broken, but we had no where else to be and the menu had enough variety to choose other options (standard American fare). Overall, our group was very pleased with our meal, the location, and the atmosphere.

Food and service were average at lunchtime. We ate on the porch, a nice view of the street and a good place to sit and people watch. The inside is nicer. The biggest plus is that they allowed my dog on the porch with us.

Wonderful experience here. Food was fantastic and cooked perfectly. Servers are so nice and on top of things. Bonus points for being dog friendly (outside patio seating).
The mussels were fantastic. One side of the place seemed like a nice quiet place to have great food and the other side was a party bar. Great combo for all. Reasonable prices

The river house looked pretty cool from the outside and we sat on the veranda. The service was really good and the food was great. Try it for yourself! My bacon burger was gigantic and very delicious. There was a band playing in the back. It looked like everybody was having a great time.

Ordered drinks sat at our table for over half an hour and were told they ran out of propane. I understand things happen but in the service industry at least a discount on the drinks we ordered would’ve been nice. Nope it’s a Saturday and now we need to find another place that will be able to accommodate a party of 10? thanks for nothing!
