10/12/25 today my sister, brother in law mom nephew my daughter and myself went to this anchor bar after a busy day.
First of all there was no toilet paper in either bathroom no soap in the women’s bathroom. Got separate bills but a 18% tip since the 6 of us sat together. We all ordered. My mom wanted something to come out first but it didn’t.
My burger was very pink I ordered chips but I got fries instead…. Their was no bleu cheese on my burger like it said I asked for tomatoes and onion I didn’t have that on their. Asked for xtra crispy chicken wings hot didn’t even get that. The waitress visited our table 3x the whole time we were there my brother in law kept trying to get her attention for my burger and she never came. They kept saying they were busy which they were not. The manager tried to blame us for not saying anything a head of time but how can we say anything when we’ve only seen our waitress literally 3x. No I do not recommend anyone to come here.

Ended up sitting at the bar because there was a 40 minute wait for a table, even though there were plenty of empty ones. Ordered medium wings and cauliflower bites. The wings were not very good, and the blue cheese was horrible. It tasted like it had gone bad. We asked for Ranch to replace it, which was better but didn't even taste like Ranch. For the place that claims to have invented Buffalo wings, Anchor Bar is an embarrassment.

Service was very slow. I sat at the bar with 2 bar tenders. Waited a good 5 minutes to be asked if I wanted anything. I asked to sample a beer then waited a good 10 minutes before the tender returned. I ordered food with a side of blue cheese dressing, never received the side even though she said she would get it. The grilled chicken sandwich was mediocre at best, fries were awesome.

We waited almost 2 hours to be seated, as we looked around at several empty tables the entire time. Once we finally received our food, our relief soon turned to disappointment. The wings were abysmal and the beef on weck was so salty it was nearly inedible. Each bite was worse than the previous. Overall it was such a bummer.

Do not order delivery from here. You’ll wait forever to get your food.

I did not eat but my friends ordered and waited about 45 minutes for chicken fingers and a sandwich. They were busy but that is a long time. I had to flag down another waitress to get my waitress to get another drink.

There were open tables but because there were was party of 50,no group of more than 2 could not be seated until 45 to 1hr. We had 4 and hit the 45 min mark and the host still said another half hour.

I moved to Buffalo from Atlanta in June. From the first time trying Anchor Bar until now, this is the best location. Please visit and John or JT is a great guy and manager. Please visit and try the chicken tenders 10/10

This place is a joke walk in it's dead empty cant see 1 custoemr anywhere and told a 10 min wait..... how about learn to run your business and staff the place. We are sitting waiting for a table right now at 3:32 pm. Again what a poorly run business. Update so the booth we sat at was dirty the window between the dinning area and bar was filthy the little led ad screen at the table food on it the menu i had needed cleaned. Food was ok but my beef on weck was tiny my wife's bo pink burger was burnt. Total waste of 50 bucks with tip and our time

This was my first trip to Anchor bar ever and it had maybe been built up in my mind. We had a giant pretzel (awesome), we bith had to have to wings. I had 10pc med wings with fries, and with the orange medium sauce, they came out looking pale and unattractive- almost like they weren’t cooked long enough. Mind they tasted good but not very crispy as I expected.
Service was excellent though! And the merch selection was good.
